right now i have datagrid bound to datatable object using sqldatareader. right now the format of my datagrid display is as follows:-
movie show1 show2 show3 show4 show5
superman 2:00 4:00 6:00 8:00 10:00
i want it in the followin format:-
movie shows
superman 2:00 4:00 6:00 8:00 10:00
How do i do it..?

Don't give the header text of the columns of the datagrid where you want it as blank.

Hi I am Kishore, a QA Consultant and a part time .Net developer.
The scenario is in a web application (ASP.Net and C#)
I am trying to connect to clearcase and get some data, for this i need to invoke the cmd process and pass the command which gets the data from clearcase view.
As it didnt worked, i tried this to make sure it will work
I added windows dll for reference, then checked the following command
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("cmd.exe");
It works but, the cmd is just running on the background. I am getting in the task manager process list.
I run the same command from a windows application - System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("cmd.exe");
from a windows application
a new command window is opend
So is it possible to do some shell commands invoked from a web application, and if so how,
pls consider this thing for example
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("cmd.exe /C rename c:\1.txt 11.txt");
If i give this statement, i will get an exception in both windows as well as a web application.
But if i try from Start Windows-> Run - cmd.exe /C rename c:\1.txt 11.txt
it will work; it will rename the file
So how is it possible to do this directly from a web application.
I will be really grateful if you could help me out.

Normally if you want to do something on clientside you use javascript for that purpose i.e for validation purpose.

I was readin Creating a Data Access Layer in .NET in in 15 seconds site
i am new in .net
i think tha i can learn read and practice i run the article to find the next point

in the aspx WidgetList.aspx i select from toolbox-data-dataset ando i get a window where show me.
Add dataset
- typed dataset -untype dataset
when i select type dataset the dropdown show me
-references dataset
-show list of all datset
in my project next select references dataset it isnt show me the list
I forget I place the reference of the data project
What i am doing bad
in this example use a Component, which extends from the System.ComponentModel.Component class
I am interested to learn to work with classes for the data access somebody knows of some example

Hi , I create a project with ASPNET2. This run without problem in my computer and my localhost.
but whene I prepare it for upload in internet (Converting Classes to DLL And else) i saw a Error when I run it.
I use Visual Studio 2005 and I use Right Click in Solution Explorer And Choose "Publish Web" for Creating Project.
Is any one know my problem?
my seconde question is it : is any way better for create Dll in Visual Studio 2005 (ASPNET2)?

My web application give me the time(using DateTime) using the Web Hosting service server(Remote Server) regional time so How could I make it show the time using the client regional time(for e.g: Saudi Arabia time)?.

I have an ASP.NET page, that opens a new ASP.NET page with a js cmd (window.open()).
How can I refresh the first page, when the second one closes? do I need to use a different cmd?
Maybe there is an article someone can give me about it?

You need *some* sort of viewer at least, otherwise you will have to write the decoding software yourself, which will be a lot of work to say the least. However, if you don't want to include acrobat reader in your program, have a look at ghostscript.
Ghostscript viewer http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/get48.htm[^] can be run directly off a CDRom if that's what you need.

MVP is a further bit of evolution on the MVC pattern. MVC is Model-View-Controller and is a way of separating out the functions of the user interface (the View) from the business layer (the model) by using a controller.
MVP is Model-View-Presenter is (in my opinion) a better alternative in that it separates the functionality much better such that the view knows nothing about the model (in the MVC pattern the view did know about the model. In both patterns the model does not know about the view.
MVP is also more easily unit testable than MVC.

Then the MVC or MVP will be part of the business and presentation tiers of a three-tier application.

Hi,
Using CompareValidator control in .NET 2005 can I compare 2 date values in dd/MM/yyyy format? Bcoz the default behavior for date comparision is that the comparision out is proper only for mm/DD/yyyy values.
