Install IIS first, then SQL Server, then the .NET Framework 1.1, then Office.

The installation order doesn't have anything to do with this question.
The answer depends on the context of "can I access the web site". Is this from a Visual Studio Project? Or are you typing this into the Address bar of your web browser? If you're just typing this in a browser, then yes, it'll work. But I really can't give you an answer without knowning more about what you're doing.

Thanks a lot for your responce
No not form visal studio.
I will be typing in the Address bar of web browser
from some other system (just like any other website)
http:\\1.1.1.1\default.html (suppose 1.1.1.1 ip of server)
Thanks & Regrads

16-bit and 32-bit are called bit depths. Which is basically the color depth of your monitor.

Hi - hope someone can help!
I have a W2K machine that has worked on the network, but has had some 'tinkering' done on it and now i cant get it to work. It doesnt appear to find the dhcp server (which is our router), and therefore isnt assigned an IP address. Trying ipconfig /all, i get:
Connection specific DNS suffix :
Description : Intel(R), etc
Physical Address : etc
DHCP enabled : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled : No
IP address : 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask : 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway :
DHCP Server : 255.255.255.255
DNS Servers :
If I try fixed IP, it works and I can see all machines on the network, but I am unable to get connection to the internet.
I have tested all hardware, by unplugging the network lead from the 'faulty' PC and plugging it into a knoown good one (XP OS though) and this worked OK.
Is there any way I can monitor the W2K network traffic to see whether it is actually attempting to register with the DHCP server?
looking in event viewer, there is a problem with DHCP!
I have this listed under a DHCP error:
Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP server) for the Network Card with network address *****.
The following error occured:
An operation was attempetd on something that is not a socket. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.
It looks like the DHCP client is trying to register approx every 5 mins, as there are now 5 errors listed, each 5 mins apart...
I also have another error - I dont know if it is related. Its source is DCOM, the description is:
The server {****} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
What is DCOM? Could this be the cause of my problem?
hope someone can help, I have had enough of this problem!

I also used to challenges with my work when working in any field that we do not know clearly about it. What I recommend for you is you should take a training about Microsoft technology. Try to gain Microsoft Certificate then you would become an expert and you found it is very easy to work in your company environment.

If you do not want to have a Microsoft training, try to purchase and read this book[^]. Its also a part of Microsoft exam and it is the beginner point to know about windows server 2003.

sorry for my poor english,
In my company there is two servers one domian server [Server1] and another one terminal server [Server2]
The role configured in Server1 are File Server, Print Server, Application Server, Remote Access/VPN Server, Domain Controller, DNS Server.
The role configured in Server2 are Application server, Terminal server, Domain Controller, DNS Server.
The Server2 [Terminal server] is connected in the Server1 [connected in domian].
Now There exist two administrators one for Server1 and another one for Server2
i'm logging into Server2 as "Server2 Administrator" ,
but the problems are
1) administrative tools local security policy are locked , administrator is not able to do any operation in the local security policy
2) i cannot add sites to trusted sites zone in Internet Explore [For relaxing security settings] , it showing you don't have previlages contact your system administrator .
3) while creating a new user , i'm getting following error message "error occured while contacting the global catalog "
i don't know what be the problem, and which user will have previlages
i think the administrator is not having the power.
and I logged into the Server2 as "Server1 Administrator" and that administrator too don't have any previlages
i want to set full power to the Server2 administrator FOR SERVER2 SYSTEM?
what to do?
which user will have full Power for Administrating the server2 system.
whether i have to set power in Server1 or in Server2 itself
please provide me solutions
thank you guy

Both server are domain controller and DNS server. What does it mean? Do you have a child domain or not?
San_Sadhan wrote: The Server2 [Terminal server] is connected in the Server1 [connected in domian].
What do you mean by connect? It is just connection a network cable to a hub/switch or you join server 2 with server 1.

Whether you log on as administrator, but you should know that every domain controller has an Administrator account, but the top administrator is reside in Enterprise Admin group. Check the group membership and try to log in again.

Thank u sir,
Actually i'm new to windows 2003 server as well as system administration, that's why i could't able to specify the problem clearly.
1) server2 [netserver] is connected with server1[domain] as child.
just now i saw the reply, i did't tried the thing, i try it and tell you.

Hi
I use CreateProcess to run a program. I need to find the windows that the main thread of the process opens (using EnumThreadWindows and from the PROCESS_INFORMATION parameter which I send to the API).
Everything is fine, but I have to wait (using Sleep API) to give time to the process to make its windows before enumerating them.
This is for sure not a good way since different processes take different times to start up.
I want to see, if there is a way to wait until process initialization is finished? maybe some API in the same manner with WaitForSingleObject just to wait for the initialization of the process?
I am really stuck in this...
Thanks in advance
