Hello all,
I need to create Powerpoint presentation using asp.net.The format for the presentation is predefined, so I need to use a template for the presentation.This presentation should be generated on the client side.
If anyone of you have any idea how to go about that, then please let me know. Thanks in advance

May be you can try using macros for that.
I am not sure if you really want to build the presentation at client side. Why not you try building at server side and then post at client?

Can you please explain a little more? I got to know after doing some R&D that one way to do is through Office Automation, and this way the presentation would be generated on the server side. How to post it at client.Another point I am doubtful about its behavior in multiuser application. Can you please explain you point little more?

hello sir
I am using C# and asp.net i have problem with frames, i am using Response.redirect() method with frames,how can i call another frame with response.redirect method(),
suppose i have two frames first A and B, search textbox is in frame a when i click on search button i want the result on frame b,.
i am using response.redirect(".aspx?frame=b"),
but this will open the page on frame A. please help me

Hi,
You have to set the target frame so that the output is displayed in the rigth frame. If you have added the frame set from within the VS .NET then please check the HTML view of the page to find some instructions and also find the target frame property.
You have to specify target frame name in the target frame property.

The article link is abit wrong. The link is on GridView Examples for ASP.NET 2.0: Displaying Summary Data in the Footer. I am using .NET 2.0 C# and had learn from that article to display summary data in the footer.

I then forgetten that my data values for Category is a string values "A", "P" etc. How can I achieved similar way of calculating the row for Category meaning calculating how many A's and P's. Perhaps the footer of the gridview would show:
Total Absent (A): 5
Total Present (P): 10

Hello, everyone:
Now i want to export my query result to excel. At first, i have tried to export the results displayed through datagrid directly to excel. However, the amount of query result is quite large, in this case i decide to use page sorting datagrid. but most articles in CP tell us how to export only one page to excel, not all the datatable.
Therefore, is there any better approach to export all the datatable directly to excel? Any idear will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

In a DataList, when the user clicks on the Edit button, a cell (TableCell) and a link are created at runtime. When the user clicks on the link, a calendar pops up. It closes itself when the user clicks on a date. My problem is that I don't know how to populate the cell with the date that the user chooses from the calendar. I can, however, get the date from the calendar to populate the text outside the datalist. I'd be appreciate if you coud show me some samples on how to achieve this. Thanks.
The problem here is i am able to populate the textbox outside the datalist but not inside a datalist.

I want to know once we set AuthenticationTicket and encrypt it and place it in the authentication cookie then how asp.net validates the information we just placed in the cookie , how it only accepts an encrypted instance of AuthenticationTicket. Can someone tamper with a cookie on the client side and fool asp.net. How asp.net prevents this kind of attacks ?
My another question is about Context.User . We know HTTP protocol is statless , once we set the authentication cookie and set Context.User in code for some page then in later requests for another pages when we check Context.User we see that its value is maintained. I want to know how this takes place . can someone tell me the full process .Does asp.net do it using the authentication cookie ? is yes Where it takes place ? If someone can show me a flowchart about the actions asp.net does it will be good.

Why Application_PostAuthenticateRequest and Application_AuthenticateRequest events happen twice ? When I put a breakpoint in their code I see that when I run the application they are called twice ? Can someone tell me why they have to be called twice ? Illustrating their position in the asp.net's events flowchart will be helpful . Help me please .

Basically, when a web page is processed, the application will get through a couple of events starting with the BeginRequest, AuthenticateRequest, PostAuthenticateRequest ..... For example when you first access a restricted web page, say Home.aspx, you can see that these two events occur, and because you are not logged on yet you will redirected to the Login page, and as a result of this the two events get fired again. And then if in the Login page there are a couple of links requesting for the resources at the server side and they are handled by the ASP.NET engine like the WebResource.axd, you'll see that these events again occurs. For more information on the events of the Application, you can see the HttpApplication[^]

I´ve searched for samples but there was no good one putting in my project, which already exists.
Someone have a sample with instructions to install?
It´s only for private use so i´m searching "freeware".

Hi,
I have created a DotNetNuke website and I want to host it on my Windows Server 2003. I have given a public IP address to my server and setup asp.net applications on the IIS (version 6).
I can access the DNN website locally from my machine but I cant access some pages from another machine using the IP address. I can access the html pages or images from another machine but I cant view the .aspx pages. I think the pages that are linked to the database cannot be viewed.
I would really appreciate if someone can help me with setting up a DNN website on my web hosting server.

I am extending the gridview control and override Render method. For some reason, i have to call 'HeaderRow.RenderControl(buffer)', 'FooterRow.RenderControl ()', and blah blah .. The problem is all the skin setting is not rendered by these methods ... Why ????

im new in asp.net and c#, and i have a web project where in one page i made a form with textboxes e.t.c. to insert data in the datasource, and i use also dropdowh lists from which i can select data.But if the data i want is not included in the dropdown list i click on a button to open a new window where i have another form to insert data to the table from which the drop downlist takes it's contents.The problem is that after i insert sth and i close the window and return to the previous page i have to refresh that page to see in the dropdownlist what i had insert and i loose everything else i had writen in the textboxes e.t.c..
Is there anything i can do ?????
