Try right clicking on project in Visual Studio and click on Add ASP.NET folders. Select App_Data

Through the system i develop, i need to bind all related data onto the datagrid after getting related search data from previous page from user.
After bind the search result on the datagrid from my MS SQL SERVER 2000 databse, i will keep checking and assiging the sequence number to each row of data from the datagrid.
The sequenced number in format (PB1-000000).
The first 3 character is category group, then the following 6 digit will generate sequencely row by row.
Any idea for me, please?

You can use OnItemDataBound event to do the functionality as that event executes for each row of the datagrid.

The case like this.
User can create their CSV data file from their SAP application & SAP server.
For my side, i am developing a system which will let user browse to the CSV data file which user save to their thumb drive, floopy disk even their local pc. when they select their prefer CSV file, user can click on a button to import the CSV data into my database on my SQL server.
Any idea for me to perform this import action including while importing i can checking and filtering out those unnecessary CVS data.

Let say i will not import all the data from the CSV file selected by the user as while importing the data i will perform some checking to pick up those related CSV data to be store into my table in my SQL server database.
I am stuck in the coding how will it be for the code as after user click the import button on my system, the importing and filtering will be take action.
After successful importing and filtering, the data will store in the database.
Please advice.

you can read the CSV file and then can store it in some array and then you can filter it and finally store it in the database. In which step is the problem.

Hello Friends,
I am working in .Net 1.1 framwork.
Basic task is to get client's local time(not datetime.now) and store it in GMT format in database server with its time zone information.
I can get local time by javascript, but can you help me to identify client's time zone information.
Can I access it from Http header?
As a solution to this I maintaining one xml file which have all time zone information with it. I am manipulating date time conversion based on this xml file.
At local side(in javascript) I am maintaining two array one for time zone abbreviation and one for GMTOffset, in JavaScript I can get GMTOffset with respect to local time, and from this GMTOffset I can find out time zone abbreviation. And I am passing this time Zone abbreviation to server side for further conversion.
But problem with this solution is that, it may be possible that two or more time zone can share same offset, in that case I am not able to get exact time zone information. I am receiving only first one.
So can you propose me better solution than this to get client side time zone setting?

I am doing a project using .net 2.0 C#. I used the SqlDataSource control to populate the database and then attach it to the gridview. The gridview works well if I run the code first time, meaning the gridview will display that SqlDataSource. But how can I achieve to display that SqlDataSource only upon user clicking a button called btnRefresh.

In btnRefresh_click method only you open the connection and bind the gridview

There are many ways to do that:
+ You don't assign the id of the SqlDataSource control to the DataSourceId property of the GridView control until the button is clicked.
+ In the button click event handler, you can call the Select method of the datasource control and assign the result to the GridView control.
+ You can manage to populate the datasource instead of using the SqlDataSource control in the button click event handler.
+ You can keep doing the way that you are familar but only make the GridView control visible until the button is clicked.

Actually I have a textbox for user to key data and then when the user click btnSubmit, that data will be stored in the database.

Probably u will be using the same image as wallpaper or for some other purposes. U just try it out with some other image in ur system.

Some application is using the file, perhaps yours? Have you opened the file earlier, like displaying it in a picture box? If you don't dispose the image object properly, the file is still open.

the page is a thumbnail gallery.. maybe asp is using the image i really don't know.. but is there a way to delete it even if the image is open?

if some program is using that file then there is no way u can delete that.

If you opened the image with a stream, or some object and you didn't close it, yes, you won't be able to delete it. However if you are only referencing it as a source for an image object in asp.net, that isn't really holding it. Either there is a stream holding it or some other program you use in your PC. If unsure, try to delete manually, if you get the same message, reset iis, and try to delete manually again, if it's deleted then you have something in your program that's locking it, otherwise another program is locking it.
If all else fails, may be asp.net doesn't have proper rights to delete it.

A web service is a project, so you can simply reference your web service from your OTHER web service just like you did when you referenced the web service from the asp.net project.

Hi, good day.
I have a question about the checkbox in datagrid.
The problem is i have a datagrid in my page and i have 4 checkbox per row in the datagrid. I use the radio button to select the record and i can check the checkbox for certain specify action.
For an example, i select the record to be print in different type of report format. The checkbos is use to select which report format need to be printed out.
Did anyone can help me to solve this problem? Thanks..

what exactly is the problem which you are getting in that? As you can put all the checkboxes in the itemtemplate column of the datagrid and same with the radio button.

Hi.. my problem is in the datagrid i got 4 columns are chechbox. Each of the column with checkbox represent different type of report printing format( that is each column's checkbox will be redirect to the specify report page when the user checked on it). When user checked the checkbox, how i get to know the status on which report need to be printed out by the user.
