Hi,
I have created an application to check the performance of enterprise library logging. It gives "Logevent file exception". I can clear the logevent file manually, but do you know any proper way to avoid this problem.
Do you have any idea about enterprise logging library performances applications.

Hi,
I have 2 components created by VS 2003. both of them create its own TcpServerChannel and TcpClientChannel.
I try to intrgrate the 2 components into 1 program. but the channels confict to each other. In detail:
1. component 1 create TcpServerChannel_1 and TcpClientChannel_1
2. component 2 create TcpServerChannel_2 and TcpClientChannel_2
3. start component 1,
4. start component 2,
5. Problem: the communication for component 2 doesn't work. it seems the data send from TcpClientChannel_2 to TcpServerChannel_2 is trying to use TcpClientChannel_1.
does anyone have a solution to make the 2 components work in one program???
Note: I see the channels information from debug. I can not change the components!

hello to you all,
i'm really interested to start and use the visual studio .net 2005 with the lang' of C# for my real-time applications. all the goodies in the C# lang' can really make me work faster but i have to know if it support real-time constrains.
is there a way to meke RT apps with C#?
or the .net framework is not RT compadable?
i really love to hear a response to this important issue.

i am developing an adserver. i want to distribute a client to the users which can view files. using the WMPPIA i can play only windows supported media files (Avi etc). how can i play quicktime and real media files in the client?

You have to install the players on the clients for those formats. There is no support for them in the .NET BCL.

Hello all,
This question may be silli, but i m not fully aware of VS.NET versions neither .net. I am about to install Visual Studio 2005, i m having XP machine with VS6. I have been told that u need vs2002 and vs2005 for codes!!
1. does code in VS2002 can work on VS2005?
2. do i need to install vs2002 first then vs2005.?
3. vs2003 needed?
4. then vs6 will work?

As things stand, you need VS2002 to build and debug C#, VB.NET and Managed C++ code for .NET Framework 1.0, VS2003 to build and debug those languages for .NET Framework 1.1, and VS2005 and debug for .NET Framework 2.0. Actually, the compilers are also included in the corresponding .NET Framework SDK, as is a managed debugger, but on the whole I would prefer to use Visual Studio.
If you're developing native, unmanaged C++ applications then you can use any version you like, but note that you'll have to distribute the correct versions of the C run-time, ATL and/or MFC depending on which libraries you're using.

I need to get the underlaying string by a StringToken from the modules constant string pool using .NET framework 1.1. Is there anyone having an idea? The only way I found so far is analysing the CorImageHeader. But there must be an easier way?!?

Hi all,
I am interested in the way SSL Certificates are validated when using SecureSocketsLayer authentication to access a directory service over LDAP. Without going too much into it, this is what works:

Of course, it only works when correct certificates are installed on the machine attempting to execute this code. If the certificates are not installed, then the SSL connection supporting the DirectoryEntry fails with a COMException, claiming the server is not operational.
I would like to find where exactly the certificate is being checked, so I can override the validation behaviour.
I need something similar to what is described here, but applies to a DirectoryEntry. The approach specified in the link doesn't solve my problem -- it doesn't seem like the System.Net.ServicePointManager.CertificatePolicy is used at all in my code.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

How can data be collected that is sent to a native application? Is there a way if I wrote a launcher program to watch all the data sent to the app I launched?
Or if I watched a particular table handle?

There is no reliable way to do this. An application can get data in so many different ways it's silly. There's simply no way to catch them all...

A table handle is a value assigned by windows to various application windows.

There is no standard for something that cna't be done in only one way. How many different database engines are there? How many ways to access them? How many ways to get information in through an IP port? Memory mapped files? RPC calls? Named Pipes? ... Starting to get the idea now?
You have to target VERY specifically the method the application uses to get this information. And in most cases, you'll find that what you want to do will take an extraordinary effort to accomplish this.
And it's not a "table handle", it's a window handle. Information is not passed through that handle. It's used to indentify windows to which messages are sent. And just about all methods for getting information into an application do NOT use a window handle to do it.

 Hi folks
I am receiving an error when I attempt to add a typed dataset to a windows form.
The error msg says:
"Could not add an instance of
ClientsWinClient.localhost_DeckAndLaundry_ClientsWebService.Clients1 to the
designer.
To resolve this problem, build the project, fix any errors, and add the
instance to the designer again."
I have done all that, to no avail. I have even deleted the web reference for the form and then recreated the web reference, but it hasn't made any difference.
This is running on a PC with windows XP PRO SP2 and is using the .net framework version 1.1.
If somebody could assist, I would be most appreciative.

i have a c# application and i want to distribute it to many people.
i believe not all of them have the FRAMEWORK
i can not give them all the 32 MB. ( right ?)
is there any thing like : "take from framework JUST WHAT IS NECCESSARY " ???
so the file will be smaller ?
and if not , what can i do ?

Tell them they are better off when their system is up to date and install the framework.
Other possibility would be NOT to use .Net but C++, VB6 or something similar instead.
