No, anyone doesn't know that code. You, for an example, don't.

If you meant to ask if someone knows the code, I know for certain that someone does. I, for an example, do.

Why would you want to do that? Is there any specific reason why you would want to reduce the functionality of the browser?

If you are trying to hide your HTML or javascript don't bother. Anyone that cares to see it knows all they have to do it turn off javascript in their browser..or use the firefox web developer extension.

I have 3 asp pages - the first is a search page (call it 1.asp), the second a results page (call it 2.asp), the third a view of a particular result clicked on by a user (call it 3.asp).

Using Javascript to go back from the particular result (3.asp) to the results page (2.asp) - eg javascript:history.go(-1); actually throws me back to the original search page (1.asp) so the user has to select their search criteria again.

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? Be gentle, I've just spent a year on maternity leave with baby-brain Smile | :)

Hi,

I'd like to use a text box in my web form that accepts and returns RTF format,
but i don't want it to be an activeX control
i don't anything to be prompted to the user when he uses the form so
I think it should be an applet,

so what should i do, and how to solve this problem?

ok Jason,

i have a web form that contains two text boxes
first one is to be filled by question name
and the second one is to be filled by question details
question details text box will contain data such as:

Please Enter Your Name, and your last name
i want the user to be able to enter the text and format it in RTF,
then i can take the value from this text box as RTF and store it in database

because i have another vb.net desktop application that reads these data from the database
and displays it as RTF data

I suggest you just store it as plain text... there shouldnt be a problem displaying it as RTF in your desktop app...

ok,here's the deal. I got some assignments which is, getting a hover button to work properly.
The real assignment is, i HAD to GET SOME REPLY from u guys (it does not ave to be solving my assignment here). D'Oh! | :doh:

Hi,

im developing a web application using vb.net,where in im creating an excel sheet ,fillin the cells and saving it,
im using windows 2000,and i have installed office 2003.
in my application i have added reference to Excel and microsoft.office.core

in the code ,im using
Imports Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel

and in page load ,i have wriiten

im not getting any error when i compile ,but during execution,i get

Hi,
I am new to Object Oriented Javascript.

I am making a javascript "class" as:

function MyClass{
     this.ajaxObj = new uniAjax();
     
     this.Start = function(url){
           this.ajaxObj.request({'url': uri , 'func': this.GetResponse}, 'Resp');
     }

     this.GetResponse = function(resp){
            alert(resp);
            this.ProcessResponse(resp);
     }

     this.ProcessResponse = function(resp){
            alert(resp);
     }
}

This uses an AJAX framework (uniAjax) for fetching data from the server.
The callback function GetResponse is able to receive the response, but the problem is that since this method is called externally by the framework, the identity of this is lost. Meaning that, ProcessResponse() is no longer related to the current this object... and therefore it gives an error when called as this.ProcessResponse(resp).

Can anyone please please please please provide a solution for this.

Make ProcessResponse a regular function instead of an anonymous function in an object, so that you can call it without a reference to the object.

Thanks for the reply.

Thats seems to be suitable solution, but my main concerns are:
1. will it be a problem if a method is accessed simultaneously from more than one place.

2. i somehow need object specific values to identify and differentiate different objects. If i put them in a global variable, then all the methods accessing this would certainly overwrite the existing value. Is there no way that i use AJAX and still retain the OO program ?

Make a callback function for each object, that uses the instance of the object to call the method in it.

Or make a general callback function that somehow identifies what object the callback belongs to, and calls a method of that object.
