V. wrote: I don't understand this one, You mean even if I put it in another thread, I still wouldn't be able to have input in other controls?
That's right. You can do data retrieval and prep on a background thread, but loading the data into the control has to be done on the UI thread. You'll have to create a method on the form that accepts the dataset in some form and either loads or databinds the control. The background thread can then marshal the data by Invoking that method on the UI thread and passing the dataset.

I’m having real trouble finding help on sendkey or sendkeys. Firstly I’m not to sure which I’m meant to be using second do I need to import the user32.dll and third how do I target the app for the information to be sent to. I’m a bit frustrated because I’ve just spent almost a week searching the web and found lots of vague hints on how to use sendkey and some ideas that dose not do much and some examples that just do not seem to work.
What I really need to do is this. I have a button that takes information from a variable or just plain text and then puts it into an application that is currently open. What I need to find out is how to focus on the last active program and then past (or sendkeys) to it. Can any one please help me out on this? Some working examples would be very welcome.
Thanks
Steve

SendKeys will send keystrokes to the currently active window, or the window that has the input focus.
I mention "currently" because the input focus can change from window to window at any time!! Even while SendKeys is posting keystrokes! There is no way to absolutely guarantee that SendKeys sends all of its keys to the application that you want it to.
There is nothing in the .NET BCL that will move the input focus to another application or window, so you'll have to use the Windows API functions SetForegroundWindow and FindWindow to make sure that the window you want to send the keys to has the input focus just before you call SendKeys. But even this is no guarantee that the focus will not change while the keystrokes are being processed!!
Basically, it's just not a reliable method of controlling another application...

Thanks for answer
yes i add both of them
i have so many controls on my form so form is too length therefore i want to use scrollbars.
but i dont know how i use them
Thanks

I think moving many controls placed on form isn't a good way.
I would look for better way for example I would place them in frame and move that frame, not separated controls.
Scroll bars have event "Changed". Use it.
By the way: use dotnet - learning vb6 is mistake.

Hi,
I'm trying to make sense out of charts in MS Access 2000.
What I want is a report with a record source that will return X rows of data.
My chart should now be displayed X times.
I know how to set this up, but cant get my chart to display the right data.
When I view it, it displays X charts but all with the same data which is the values of all X charts together.
How do I set it up that chart 1 displays only the data corresponding to, say, client 1?
When I set the Child and Master Fields property to that of the client ID for both the chart's row source and the reports record source, X blank charts are displayed!
you can't forget something you never knew...

Thanks

Right click ur Project and click properties-> select configuration properties from the left hand pane -> then debugging -> from start action, select Start external program radio button and browse the path for winword.exe or in case an application path (c:\Program files\Microsoft Office\ Office\ Winword.exe).
So after running the project u will find Word coming up......Check for VS.NET 2005, this is way for 2003..
I hope it will help.

hii there
Use the following recurrsive operation instead. Pass control object instead of Form in the Function.
Public Sub TraverseControls(ByRef FormName As Control)
Dim LvCont As Control
For Each LvCont In FormName.Controls
If (LvCont.Controls.Count > 0) Then
TraverseControls(LvCont)
End If

' Process on LvCont
Next
End Sub
