Run Excel.exe application, go to Tools/Macro/Security, click 'Trusted publishers' tab, check 'Trust access to Visual Basic Project'.
Unfortunately, this can not be set programaticaly, AFAIK.

W3C validator gives you error description along with some suggestion.Follow those suggestions,If suggetions are not available Understand error try to solve it one by one.In many cases solving one problem can automatically solve your more than one problem,so try to solve one by one.
I hope this will help you.

Can any one explain me how to coding to use AcroPdf.dll to display PDF files in asp.net application? also for windowsMediaplayer dll in ASP.Net 1.1
thanks in advance
|
|
|
|
|
If you want to work with the pdf document at the server side, you simly right click on the project and choose Add Reference. If you want to open a pdf document or play a media file, the client machine needs to have the pdf viewer/media player installed, and you might be able to host it on your web page using the object[^] element.

Hi All,
I have a DATE data column in dataset, which gives me date and time both values. i want only date part of that column to display in table. is there any way i can convert it to only date format?
Thanks,
Niki
|
|
|
|
|
You can quickly see the DateTime members[^] providing you with a couple of ways to get the date value only. Also when binding the Date column to the table, you can specify the formatting pattern to get the date, you can read more about this in msdn[^].

Hello,
I have a form with some checkboxes, I want that whenever the user check a checkbox to post a message to the server and the server will update the Session object.
I don't know how to do it. Please Help.
Thanks,
Yossi
|
|
|
|
|
You can see the sample code[^] of using an Ajax library to access the Session object.

Hi thanks,
For this I need to download a dll file and to use the new classes/ methods.
I don't want to use open sources for this because this should be a simple task.
Do you have any other solution.
Thanks,
Yossi

You can manage to write your own javascript to work with the XmlHttpRequest object to send an out-of-box request to server, you can specify a web page, custom http handler .ashx, or web service as the destination of the request, and use them to access the session object.
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks,
I tried to do it using ashx handler but it seems that I can't use the Session object there.
I use .NET 2.0 and working with Visual Studio.
Thanks,
Yossi

I am relatively new to ASP.NET and have just uploaded my first page. I have a "Save" function that writes information from a control to an XML file. Whenever I try to run this function I get this error from ASP.NET:
Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Access to the path 'c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\favorites.xml' is denied.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\favorites.xml' is denied.
ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.
To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure how to change the access rights because I am using a web hosting service.
It works fine on my local machine.
What should I do from here?

|
|
|
|
You need to contact the admin if you don't have the control to ensure that you are given a place where your application has the write permission. For more information, see ASP.NET process identity[^]

HI,
Can you write the code here that you are using.
Thanks,
Sushant Duggal.

Here is the code that I am using. I am referencing the file in the last sub-routine "Save_Click".
Sub SaveNodes(ByVal nodesCollection As TreeNodeCollection, ByVal textWriter As System.Xml.XmlTextWriter)
Dim link_node As TreeNode
For Each link_node In nodesCollection
If link_node.ChildNodes.Count Then
textWriter.WriteStartElement("Folder")
textWriter.WriteAttributeString("Name", link_node.Text)
textWriter.WriteRaw(vbCrLf)
Else
textWriter.WriteStartElement("Link")
textWriter.WriteAttributeString("Name", link_node.Text)
textWriter.WriteAttributeString("Location", link_node.NavigateUrl)
End If
If link_node.ChildNodes.Count > 0 Then
SaveNodes(link_node.ChildNodes, textWriter)
End If
textWriter.WriteEndElement()
textWriter.WriteRaw(vbCrLf)
Next
End Sub
Sub SaveTreeViewData(ByVal treeView As TreeView, ByVal path As String)
'Create a serializer and file to save TreeViewData
Dim TextWriter As New System.Xml.XmlTextWriter(path, System.Text.Encoding.UTF8)
TextWriter.WriteStartDocument()
TextWriter.WriteRaw(vbCrLf)
SaveNodes(treeView.Nodes, TextWriter)
TextWriter.Close()
End Sub
Protected Sub Save_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Save.Click
SaveTreeViewData(Link_Tree, "favorites.xml")
End Sub

Hello,
I have an ASP.NET 2 app, recently converted from .net 1.1.
The app connects to a SQL DB.
Running the app under Windows 2000 server there were no issues. Now that I converted the app and run it under W2003 server it will "time-out" after about 15 minutes of leaving it idle. The error reported is: 4005
Event message: Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired.
I have tried these items from MS: http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;918041&spid=8940&sid=global
And
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnpag2/html/paght000009.asp
But none worked. The only thing that seems to work is this: http://www.cgnit.com/resources/ntauthority_networkservice_error.html
But my SQL Admin says we can't do that because of security issues.
Anyone have any ideas, comments or suggestions?
Much appreciaterd!!
Thks,
--PhB.

Hello all,
This is a kind of goofy situation I have here. Let me Try to break it down as best as I can:
Page1.aspx
- has a masterpage define
- includes page2.html that is in a subdirectory
(<!-- #include virtual="JavaStuff/Page2.html" --> )
Page2.html
- contains the JavaStuff.class applet that is located in the same directory
Now, when I navigate to Page1 the java console returns me a JavaStuff.class not found error. When I navigate directly to Page2 everything works fine. I've tried using absolute paths in the applet declaration but that breaks both pages. The reason I don't put the applet directly in the Page1 is because the HTML of Page2 contains some pretty odd-ball stuff that I don't want to break if I can avoid it.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I've found sometimes for whatever reason, Visual Studio sometimes disassociates button events. Usually all it takes for me to fix is to put in a Response.Write("button clicked") in the event handler. That usually gets things going, then you can just erase or comment out that line. It's some kind of wacky VS voodoo.
