Hi,
Please follow,
1)Drag and drop crystalreportviewer control on form
2)Right click on project in solution window
add new item - select Crystalreport
3) design your report and save it i.e. report1
4)right click on crystalreportviewer and select property
5) In property window ReportSource Select your crystalreport report1

I am facing a problem in Publishing my Website. I have created a website to experiment with the VS 2005 Login control. My website is working fine in Visual Studio 2005. But when I publish it and run it through IIS, this login control fails to work (not letting any user to log on). I guess there is some problem in Database connection. Website is using MS SQL 2005 for Membership Provider.
Please let me know if you know the solution.

Do you use the same user credential data for the published web site? Or it just uses another database? If you want it to use the same user data, you need to set the applicationName in the membership configuration.

Hello, I am designing a webapplication that has plan_courses and courses_followed table. It is required that after the planned date, an alert should be seen that will ask the administrator if the student followed the planned course or not and if yes, the record should automatically be inserted into the courses_followed table and delete from the plan_courses and if no, it should be deleted from the plan_courses table.
Does anyone know how I can even start with this puzzle?
Sample codes will be of great help, I am using SQL Server

Hi,
I am working on ASP.NET 2.0. I have a dropdownlist & i have bound the data from the database. It works fine..
I gets illogical error..which i cant identify...
I have coded on the selected index change on dropdown list..but when i run the application it doesnt fire the event for select index change.
I have applied a breakpoint also but as it doesnt fire the event its not break at the breakpoint....
Any one can help me what problem is this...& how to solve it...

Hi,
Have you set Autopostback property of dropdown to true.If yes,check
Protected Sub ddl_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ddl.SelectedIndexChanged
End Sub
I mean check procedure handles dropdownlist selectedindexchanged

Well it shows the same function declaration but still its not firing the event. to get active on that function...
I have also applied the break point but it do not stop at that breakpoint because its not firing the event to gets active on this function..

Please double click on dropdownlist and check wheather it goes to same routine if yes and still you facing same problem,then check your page contain single or multiple tag in your code.

Hi.
In the (c#) Web application that i am developing, there is a web form whose target is set as _blank.
now,i'm trying to do validations on the textboxes in the page using the javascript alert window.The alert window is getting displayed .But with the same page reopened.I need the alert window to get opened in the same form without getting reopened.
One another problem is to close the form on a button_click().
There also when i try to close the window using javascript code as
window.close();
its not giving me the result.
I think the problem is caused by the target _blank.
But that is required for my application.
Please provide a solution..

I have a menu control in which i use a dropdownlist and i use the control in all the pages .The data is bound dynamically at runtime .But it so happens in some pages the item names in the dropdownlist occupy more space than the width of the ddl hence not visible completely .I cannot increase its size in the menu control.Is there a way to View the complete name on selecting the dropdownlist control .

I am not sure if this is the best solution but just try it.
Use javascript to display the name on mouse over,steps are as follows
1.try to add a div tag in html file:
<div id="tooltip" style="POSITION: absolute;" noWrap></div>
2.add this in code behind - ddl is name of your drop down list
ddl.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "showTooltip();");
ddl.Attributes.Add("onmouseout", "showTooltip();");
i.e on mouseover you can see the name on mouse out the name disappears
3.Add the following javascript function

note: you have to change the top and left values by adding some constant number by trial and error method eg:

also check how the page looks at different resolutions.
