Is there any way to set where a file begins (like SetEndOfFile except that it sets the beginning of the file)? I have a situation where I need to make files smaller by deleting data from the beginning, and reading and writing all the data is very inefficient.

I think there is no such way/method to set begins of the file.
But you can maintain your delimiter for the begining of data/file.

The first thing about this is that you should be knowing how to handle unmanaged code from the managed code.
Second issue: Is it possible to change your application from Console to Windows Forms.
You will have to write the entire logic again if you want to do it in windows forms

Craete the Windows form application. Then place the ListBox on the form.
Now where you are printing to conmsole pass these values to you listbox control.

Create new GUI based application,
add List box on it,
create Control variable of list box,
use Methods of the Control variable to insert the data into list box.
There may be other solution for this

Hi All,
I am working on VC++ (exe dialog application).. I have loaded the xml file using DOM i;e using a pointer to IXMLDOMDocument and calling the load() function of it. Can I know if there are any built in function or any other alternatives to find the size of the DOM ,before and after loading the xml file??

but what does the "BSTR name" indicate here..

Thanks. I am using the MaxXMLSize property. But the setProperty() sets the value of the property according to the user. But anyway after loading the file onto DOM .. How do we get the changed value since the getProperty() just gets the value set(which was done using the setProperty())

Sorry, it's not easy to copy URL's from MSDN.
There are two versions of IMAPI. v1 handles CD only.
But v2 handles DVD too.

shall we use the API VC6.0 version.

That's up to you to decide.
I've used the Nero API and I think it's just great. I have no experience of the built-in SDK in XP. That's mainly beacuse it's XP only and my customer uses Win2k.

Please follow the same thread dear.No need to repost. You could have modified your last question and your question is not clear from your post.
when you don't need to return a value you just mention void as the return type, that is you are not returning any value otherwise you have to mention and make sure that all blocks in your function return a value and receive it where the function was called from.
It's not always necessary to pass the values to a function as in the case below:
void hello()
{
cout<<"how are you";
}
