but save back to server ?? so for this i need some control with in with

A Word Document? I don't think Word would be able to save directly to a server, but you can let users upload the file when they are done editing. But i'm thinking more like having a server-side script that takes the text (and a few images if necessary, though the image has to be already on someone's server and be identified by a url) that users enter into a form, most likely a web-based text editor type of thing (Java?) and writes that to a word document on the server. But i don't know you would want it to "edit" the document or keep the original for backup and simply create another copy.

Can CSS do gradients? I know i can just make a gradient in Photoshop and use if as the bg, but if CSS can do gradients, I'd love to know how to do it.

i was looking at that last night too because its the closest to what i mean to show, but i wasn't sure if she/he wants actual code like i usually do to figure out if that trick would work for me. But it would take seconds to generate another gradient like this in PHP.
You use 'html forms' for the data entry boxes, the top R, G & B, the bottom R, G & B and the # of lines for height ( I mean if you are doing just a little tool bar 25 lines will be sufficient, so it's nice to be able to set it). Use the 'get' method for the form if you are gonna have the form and the code in the same document. Then i guess you can use the while loop for the whole operation with a simple formula... Divide the difference between each of the corresponding values (R & R, G & G, etc) by the # of lines to determine the # by which to increment the next value. Then have it write the code into a table cell at the bottom of the page.

Hello,
I have used some simple web services in the past using VS2003.
I am now creating a project in VS2005, and have created another simple web service. I am able to go to it's location on "http://localhost/WebServiceLocaton/WebService.asmx" no problem. It shows the availble WebMethods which I can use Invoke on to test.
However, I am unable to go directly to the location of a WebMethod as I was able to with the VS2003 WebService.
When I try to access it directly at

Does anyone have any idea why I would be getting this and what I need to do to be able to get to my methods directly? It seems I am only able to access them using POST, but not GET, but I am not very familiar with how each works and what to do to allow my WebService's methods to be accessed by both.
Also, if I post my website on a different server, when I attempt to go to it I get the error that it can only be accessed from a local machine. I am not sure if the two problems are related.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Our team is developing a product which can capture documents and other data from SharePoint sites.
So far we know we can do this with SharePoint SDK, but our program has to be installed on the SharePoint server, or at least in the Server Farm.
Thus it's very inconvenient to deploy the product.
We would like to know if there's a way to capture the data remotely. That is, can we capture all the SharePoint servers from a central server?
BTW, is it possible that we can know which machine has SharePoint server installed by scanning the AD?

Please help, i'm working on the message box that will display alerting other users who are opening a same case, which is currently opening by a prvious user. Except the owner who opened the case first, the others can only view.
Can I use a condition for this situation or any java-script. Thanx for your help..
Ex: if Case A is currently open, then other user can only view it but not open. Except the owner.

It might be useful if we knew what languages/technologies you are using. ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Ajax, etc.
Message boxes or alerts are only available client-side, so you'd have to be using javascript and Ajax to request the case status, and alert the user that the case is already open.
In server-side ASP, I would do somthing like check the database to see if Case A is open, and change the html I output accordingly (like changing input fields to just text or disabling the save button, whatever makes sense to the user).
Again, depends on what technologies you're using...

Im REALLY not sure if this is in the right place, so please point me to where I need to go if it's not.
I am currently working for an architect recruiting firm in Dallas and one of the things I do is add to their database. This is done by gathering canidates from the AIA (American Institute of Architects) site, and putting their name, address, phone number, email address, city, state, etc.... all of this information comes from the canidate's posting on AIA, (or any other job site for that matter).
I would like to develop a batch file that runs a program once an hour that goes out and "grabs" the most recent canidates from this site. It will be hard for you to look at this site, as you have to have login info. The information is similar to Monster.com, but I am not sure about the frame/coding structure of the site.
I took a computer science course in HS on java; this is my only knowledge of programming. I will need a lot of help on this I am sure, but I am willing to learn and research what I need to, as there is a nice check in it for me.
So, please let me know what I need to do to get something like this up and running. Thanks...
