How can Idisable a button at run time depending on the inputs given by the user
Thank u in advance

Use the EnableWindow function.
Steve
|
|
|
|
|
m_Button1.EnableWindow(0 or 1);
GetDlgItem(IDC_BUTTON1)->EnableWindow(0 or 1);

Map the button to CButton (for ex m_button) using the classwizard.
Now u can use m_button.EnableWindow(TRUE) to enable window or m_button.EnableWindow(FALSE) to disable the button.

hi
How can we change the color of the caption bar of the dilaog box
Thank you

There is no such ready to use method that allows you to change the caption bar. You will have to owner draw the items that you would like to change the color of. Look into the examples of code project.

I am a C# programmer, using VS 2003. I found C++ DLL code on the internet and created a new C++ project to clean up the code to modern standards. When i compile the new project i am getting hundreds of errors. It appears nothing is recognized by the compiler.
When i put the cleaned up code in the original project, replacing the original files, eveything works fine. So i concluded that certain project settings needed to be configured. So i go back to my new project and try to make the project settings the same. But when i compile i still get hundreds of errors.
What do i need to set up to have compile success? Why does C++ have to be so hard to use?

It sounds like the original project may have had less strict warning and errors settings than your new project. What you may want to do is open two instances of Visual Studio, one with the old project and the other with your new one. Compare the settings, side by side.

Bjarne Stroustrup, the creator of C++, had something like this to say: "The C programming language made it easy to shoot yourself in the foot. With C++, you blow off the whole leg."
C++ is a powerful language. Unfortunately, with that power, can come great difficulty.

Dear Mike
Thanks a lot for your valuable Advice
its fine, working now!
Can u please also help me in this below problem
i created a thread, and thread creates a dialog box
and dispays, i want to set the edit box text form the parent thread
, and how to communicate form child thread to parent thread
please help me

In the parent thread declare a pointer variable to the child thread dialog class.
pass that pointer to the child thred and get it initialized with the dialog class object.
use that pointer form the parent thread to set the edit control txt.
But, I dont think it is a good design to manipulate the child thread controls from parent thread. chil thread has to be idependent from perent.
cheers...milton.
