Release : release mode without unicode support, linked with MFC in DLL.
Release Unicode : release mode with unicode support, linked with MFC in DLL.
Release Static Unicode : release mode with unicode support, with MFC statically linked in the app.

"#pragma hdrstop" directive which terminates the list of header files eligible for precompilation in order to reduce the amount of disk space used by precompiled headers.
Precompiled header files can be shared between the various source files of your project only if the header files listed prior to the #pragma hdrstop are identical.
This is more specific to C++ Builder
Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

#pragma hdrstop may be inserted in the primary source file at a point prior to the first token that does not belong to a preprocessing directive. This enables the user to specify where the set of header files that is subject to precompilation ends. For example,
#include "xxx.h"
#include "yyy.h"
#pragma hdrstop
#include "zzz.h"
Here, the precompiled header file includes processing state for xxx.h and yyy.h but not zzz.h . (This is useful if the user decides that the information added by what follows the #pragma hdrstop does not justify the creation of another PCH file.)

Hi all,
I have created a DLL and its header name is simple.h which contains a global variable multiplier n a function multipy. For testing this dll i created a dialog based application n #included simple.h in CheckTestDll.h.
This CheckTestDll.h is #included in CheckTestDllDlg.h in which i m using the structure defined in header file of DLL.
But when i compile this test application i get this error
error LNK2005: "long multiplier" (?multiplier@@3JA) already defined in CheckTestDll.obj
Can anyone help me.

Global variables are not recommended to host in header files.
Since the DLL is written by yourself. I suggest you to move that global variable(s) into a .CPP file of that DLL project.

You have to enclose your header into preprocessor to avoir it being copied several times:
#ifndef YOURFILE
#define YOURFILE
...
...
#endif
Post your header file, the problem is perhaps also there because of your variable.

1.) The variable is decleared in the cpp and decalared extern in the header
2>) Make the variable static
