am getting an Error when refering an external config file from web.config file, code is
string str = System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["KeyToBeAdded"];
Response.Write(str);
the Exception is
The root element must match the name of the section referencing the file, 'appSettings' (c:\inetpub\wwwroot\referexternalfiles\firstfile\YourSettings.config line 10)

Can't find it right away, but if you try several keywords you'll get there (also try MSDN)
(keywords you can try, dynamically create datagrid, datagrid at runtime, ...)
Coulda, woulda, shoulda doesn't matter if you don't.

I have a question about the Post Back, I dont think Ive really got it yet. I have a form with checkboxes and a submit button. I put in a break point in the page load method and my onClick method of the button. First time, page loads, grand. Checkbox values are populated from a DB grand. Then I change the values of the check boxes and click submit. The first breakpoint i encounter is the one in page load, which reloads the checkbox values from the DB and then these go into the onClick method. So my question is why is the order pageload, click submit, page load, onClick method? Ive tried putting the generation of the checkboxes in a if(!page,ispostback) but then in the submit method i call FindControl and it cant find them because I guess they were never created. What I want to know is why is this second pageload in there? I dont want it and its wrecking things. Thanks in advance,

You mean you want to place some settings in an external file, and refer to it from the web.config? If so, you can check out the file[^] attribute of the appSettings element.

You simply copy the assembly Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.dll to the temp folder of your web application:

Hi all,
How to bind the records from sql server tables and display into the HTML table control.
The data should be displayed in the HTML table with all features of datagrid(paging,edit and delete and go to page No).Simply with out using the datagrid.
Pls suggest me with some sample codings.

Hi Paul,
The html table control does not support data binding like a data-bound control such as datagrid, datalist ..., so if you want to use the html table, you need to walk through the record collection of the datasource, then build each row (tr) for the table. Also you also need to manage all the built-in features of the datagrid control like paging, sorting ....it seems overhead to you. So I'm curious that why you don't just use the datagrid control.
