Occasionally I take a glance at the Code Project Job Advertisements page and I get headache with loooking for jobs for a particular state in the United States. Would it be possible to be able to sort the list by: Title, Location, and Date?

It would be nice if you could add the following text:

All too often, I could answer a question if the < and > characters (and everything in between) hadn't gotten stripped.

People seem to have enough problems reading 'Do not post programming questions in the lounge', do you really think their going to pay attention to something that complicated.

Thanks. It just seems like half the time I go to answer a question, the code in the post is rendered meaningless by having everything between the < and > characters stripped out.

Yes there is. The <code;> tag is essentially an inline font 'style' for function names and that sort of thing in your post text. I would use it, for example, if I was writing about calling the <code>GetComputerName()</code> API function to retrieve the name of the computer my application is running on. I would use the <pre> tag if I wanted to show them some sample code, like this:<pre>
_TCHAR computer_name[MAX_COMPUTERNAME_LENGTH + 1];
if (::GetComputerName(computer_name),
(MAX_COMPUTERNAME_LENGTH + 1)) {
}</pre>

hmmm, if you're doing so, you'll see your pre tags appearing like this : <pre>some code</pre> and not like this...
some code
but anyway, i fully agree, there might be something more explicit done for the new guys that don't know the use of these tags, and how the post formatting can help rendering their question...

Is there any way to have a view of the forums that doesn't show the voting and change the colours of the messages.
I'm not really interested in what other peoples vote was on a subject but sometimes seeing valid posts like Tom Archer's recent lounge thread on Windows SDK, being voted low really annoy me. So I'd rather not see the votes, and not have the option to vote myself.

Change your noise threshold to 1 and posts will not change colour.

Is that 'Very Low' or 'Very High'. Either option still shows both red and grey posts. (Using MessageView)

A low tolerance means you want messages marked grey sooner - ie when they start getting voted from 4 downwards. A high tolerance means you're happy to view posts that have low (1-2) ratings.
Unfortunately you're right though - regardless of tolerance settings high rated messages will still show red.

Hi Developers
I am going to design an Email Management System in which an administrator can create,edit view certain Templates and then send these templates to different people. Further more Body,Subject,To of emails should be editable.
Please guide me in this regard if u know some existing like system. Which can be helpful for me in this regard.

Here it is a little suggestion for this great forum:
I think that nowadays it isn't available but most of us are interested in several forums but not in all of them. It'd be useful to define in eachone's profile their prefered forums and then in the "Question Timer" summary it'd only appear the questions on the selected forums.

I was wondering how feasible adding another section to the articles at codeproject would be? I've been a longtime lurker to CP and would like to write some articles. I only have any experience with gnu programming and generic c++ and python code. I've asked and seen a couple other questions asked about this, and it seems like there is some interest in articles that cover some of these topics. Looking around, though, I don't really see any place to submit them. Is there someplace for these sorts of articles, and if not, what would be the official reaction to a suggestion that a new section for these sorts of articles be created?

My suggestion is to add "Message Boards" to the drop down field at the top of the page where you can put Search criteria. Currently you only allow Articles and Authors to be searched and then if nothing is found you can try searching the message boards. There is a search comments feature at the top of each message board, but I'm not sure it is as visable as it could be.
Here is a link to the lounge where I asked how to search, and based on the feedback, it might be helpful to add "Message Boards" to the Search field at top.

The discussion forum in CP is really impressive since each message opens up and closes dynamically when we click it.
Similarly, CP can try bringing in a dynamic DIV containing the textbox etc to post the reply, and similar dynamic DIV for 'Email' etc.

When we post a hyperlink, CP auto pastes a new window text. Similarly, it would be nice when we type a URL pattern and after a space (flagging end of URL string), the above auto format operation getting triggered.
Perhaps Microsoft Outlook etc would hyperlink http://www.microsoft.com/ when we type the / and press space.
