you can disable those messages by checking "Disable script debugging" in options tab unless you need it for web development.

i get a JS error every time i hover over the "Help! Articles Message Boards..." toolbar.
something about "HooverBold undefined"
as a result, i haven't been able to get to the StoreFront in quite a while (to check for VS05)

Still?? Have you tried a Ctrl+F5? That issue should have been long gone.
And BTW - we *just* got final confirmation that we will be able to get VS2005 Pro. Hopefully we'll have it on the store by the weekend.

hmmm it works at home, but not at work.
it could be the (crappy) proxy server they use - it has a tendency to cache and re-serve .JS files forever...

It seems that it's somewhat difficult to determine what kind of license code on codeproject.com is offered under. There is a vague description of what kind of rights are expected from the author when submitting code in the "Submit Code" page, but not much else. And it appears that the only way to determine what kind of license the code is provided under, is to download the code, and try to find a license statement somewhere (which, in some cases, doesn't appear to exist).
It seems like it would be much more clear, and easier, if codeproject were to simply put a statemtent on the download pages to the effect of (for example) "codeproject.com code is distributed under the MIT (or BSD, or whatever) license, unless the author has specifically indicated another license which his/her code will be distributed under." That would make the legal status of the code much more clear, and allow people to reuse the code under clear conditions, without worrying about legal entanglements.
I imagine that the submission process would have to include some sort of click-through acceptance of this by the author as well..

In my opinion, Code Project provides some of the best developer content available. I have several suggestions of ways to further raise the value of the content for users at minimal cost.
Content is useful only if it can be located quickly when needed. Code Project content could be located more easily if the following capabilities were available. (Some of these capabilities are available within some areas of the site, but [as far as I am aware] not across all areas.)
a) Add additional features to allow sorting of search results. The site would be greatly enhanced if users could sort search results by article date, article update date and article rating.
b) Add additional categories for navigation. For example, I am currently most interested in articles focused on .NET 2.0 topics. There doesn't appear to be a way to quickly limit search results to articles that address this new area of interest.
At a lower priority:
c) An option to change the number of results returned on each page would be helpful.
d) A field that displayed the total number of search results returned would be helpful.

with the release of .Net 2005, VSTO has vasly increaed functionality and use, and I think it would be very helpful to those of us that use it to have a specific message board to communicate.

While most things can be applied or modified to work with different framework versions I think it wouldn't hurt if the articles could be further classified to mention the specific framework version used.

The top-right of an article page shows the attributes associated with it, which includes the .NET f/w version.

Why don't setting the default text "Please do NOT post programming questions or ads to this forum", when posting in the lounge forum or non programming forums. People will likely notice it, if the problem if they don't see the red alert above. I think some people will miss it.

Hey, maybe it's just me, but seems like programming questions in the Lounge hasn't been as much of a problem lately than it has in the past.
