I have created a ContextMenuHandler to show an additional menu item in the File Explorer when someone right clicks on a file (similar to winzips additions, or cut, or copy). This works fine. I actually followed an example from this site.
I added a registration function to additionally register the handler to work with Folders as well as files, so that when you right click a folder, it also shows the additional menu item. While this works under most conditions, the problem I am having is that the handler's IContextMenu.InvokeCommand() method is getting called when you click the Windows key + "e" (this brings up the file explorer normally). This is somehow preventing the file explorer from being launched at all when activated this way. I can still run the file explorer by navigating to it's shortcut, but it won't launch using the method I show above as long as I have my handler registered to add to the context menu for folders.
Any ideas?

Hi, anyone there, who knows a code snippet, in which a word doc document is converted to txt ?
I just want to extract the plain text of a doc and put it in a bytearray, without using external tools. I tested the "automating word" :

I get a "access denied" Errormessage. I tried then to change the rights of the ASPNET User in dcomcnfg , but there is no "Microsoft Word Document" in DCOM ????

i still have this " access denied" error ! I gave a lot of users full rights in the security tab:
Administrators
ASP.NET Machine Account
IWAM_Machinename
Interaktiv
IUSR_Machinename
everyone
System
But with no success...
I changed the identity from the user, who starts the application in my actual WinXP-useraccount...stilll the same error !!
No one there with an idea ?

Does BindingSource.Filter support wildcards? I have tried *,% and ? but none of them work.

Well always when you post a question you find the answer. I had to use LIKE instead of = when I used the wildcard (%).

Can you use framework 2.0 with visual studio 2003?
I just ran a bunch of service packs and installed framework 2.0.
Now, I open an C# web app and I get an error:
"Visual Studio .NET has detected that the specified web server is not running ASP.NET version 1.1."
"You will be unable to run ASP.NET web applications or services"
I did the aspnet_regiis.exe -i and thought that 2003 would be compatible. Am I wrong or is there something that I need to change in my solution or project file?

No.
Visual Studio 2002 -> .NET 1.0
Visual Studio 2003 -> .NET 1.1
Visual Studio 2005 -> .NET 2.0
ONLY! No exceptions. You can't force 2003 to work with .NET 2.0. Remember, the compilers are built into the .NET Framework, not Visual Studio.

No. This question was asked so many times.
ASP.NET 2.0 installs a property sheet, so u can change the version of .net-framework.

What have I done wrong. I slapped up a quick dataset navigation control (first, back, next,last) to add to any form i create. somewhere along the line i have mangled something and now to update both the user control and the parent form (with it's databound controls) i need to add BOTH these two lines:
this.Parent.BindingContext[ControlDataSet, TableName].Position -= 1;
this.BindingContext[ControlDataSet, TableName].Position -= 1;
where : ControlDataSset is a DataSet on the parent form and TableName is a string containing the name of the table in the dataset I wish to move through
The VB version only requires the second line. It is incredible simple i am just stumped. here

This is a little project i am working on nothing big.
Ok here goes, I have 2 forms my main form and my 2nd form my main form consists of a linkLabel once this linkLabel is selected it brings up my 2nd form (I could have used a button or menu but i chose linkLabel) I have the text for the 2nd form blank because what i want to do is once the 2nd form pops up i want it to contain the same text as the linkLabel. I know there is a way to do it just not sure how. i have been messing with this for the past couple days trying to get it to work.

and this is the error i get when i input ItemsForm.Text = linkLabel1.Text
An object reference is required for the nonstatic field, method, or property 'System.Windows.Forms.Control.Text
also the linkLabel name will be givin when the other parts of the program are activated such as the two listBoxes and radioButtons

Text is an instance property, not a static one - so you set Text on the instance that you created which was called VIF

ItemsForm.Text is trying to set a static property called text. You can only set the text on an instance of your ItemsForm.

I do have using System.ComponentModel.Design; and then

Hi all,
I have a table which is having one datetime column. I try to retrieve values from the table in SP along with the mentioned datetime column value.
When i Run the query in analyser it works fine ( i expect the datetime column should return datetime with Millisecond and not with AM PM ) in query analyzer.
WHen i asssign the same values to a property in the middle tier, the millisecond values got truncated and the AM/PM comes into picture. ( i tried to have the property as string not datetime , it doesnt work  ] .
Any help that how can i retrieve and assign a datetime column value with millisecond and not with AM/PM in C#.

The problem is not where you think it is. A DateTime value does not have a format, so it can't have an AM/PM indicator. It's when you convert the value into a string that it gets it's format. If you specify a format where the milliseconds are visible, you will see that they are there.

Can you connect to an Oracle Database when the form loads without executing a query? I would like to connect to the db first when the form loads and have a static connection while the application is running. When the user clicks a button, it simply performs a query and does not have to connect.
Any suggestions?

Yeah, don't do it.
It's considered very bad practice to grab a very expensive connection license and hang on to it when your app isn't doing anything. Connect, query, release. It's that simple. There's almost never a good reason to hold onto a connection to the database for the life of your application.
Think of it this way. If you have 100 people using your app, but only half of them are doing any database work at any one time, do you want to spend $15,000 for 100 connection licenses or $7,500 for 50?
