But this function is in the .cpp file.

If I put this function in .h file, it works fine.

Delete all your debug or release directory.
Make sure you have exacly the the same function definition in cpp and h file.
And don't include cpp file in header file
Recompile file.

template is to class as class is to object.
a class isn't an object, it is used to create objects.
a template isn't a class, it is used to create classes.
as a template isn't a class it isn't code.
when you declare an instance of a template the compiler generates the appropriate code for the class - that's what will get compiled.

 I am working on writing a MFC application supporting both container and server of compound document. Because i use a third part y ole client in my application, and meanwhile I also want insert my object into word.
However, I find Microsoft word does not work well with a nested compound document(for example insert a wordpad object into word, and then insert microsoft paint into wordpad). There are error message of "unable to update client".
However, Microsoft Excel/Power Point work well with a nested compound document .
Does anyone can help me in this regard?

I'm using the CRichEditCtrl to display text. I also want to be able to change the font and - within the font - the character set.
For font selection, I use the CFontDialog. I can select the font and also the character set (skript).
Applying the selection to the rich edit control changes the font as expected, but the char set does not change.
E.g., if I have eastern europe text to display, I have to change the char set from 'Western' to 'Central European'. Regardless which char set I assign to the rich edit control (by using SetDefaultCharFormat(cf)) nothing changes.
If I try to do the same in Wordpad (the classic rich edit application), it does not work as well. Changing the char set skript does not change anything in the text.
Is this a common problem of the rich edit control ?
Is there any idea to solve the problem (by still using the rich edit control) ?

question for guru's familiar with IPv6... how do i port if_nametoindex interface in Windows. is it supported? i'm currently porting a C application in linux that uses if_nametoindex and i'm having a problem converting this part to windows....

I have Created a status bar which has three panes.The first pane width has set to 100 ,second with 230 , ans third witht the remaining.The first pane is the default pane,which show the text in prompt of menu item, For example "ready","Open a new File" etc.AS when i select the menu item`s.The width of the first pane has to changed to the lenght of the string in Menu item`s prompt text.I know about "SetPaneInfo" function.That thing is that how can retrive the menu item prompt text.

To handle TTN_NEEDTEXT is not enough, from TOOLTIPTEXT I don't know how to change the tip text according to a special button in the toolbar.

WM_CREATE/WM_INITDIALOG, you have to make system wide hook to know about it....
