Hello to all out there. I need some help in referance to the title above. I'm haveing some difficultly in accessing the partition table of the harddisk. This question os in referance to a course i'm studying called System progamming. Low-level access to the system's hardware. And on other question is that after changing the partition sizes i want the changes to take effect after I restart the computer. How do I toggle an automatic reboot? Please if Lallous can help me I'd be very obliged. I read his profile and I hope that is maybe up your line. I'll be very thankful to anyone who replies. Thanks alot.

Microsoft's HTML Help Workshop (free) is the compiler used to create the type of compiled help file you reference. Personally, I use helpMATIC Pro (shareware) to create my user guides which then uses the compiler in the HTML Help Workshop to create the final help file.

a snapshot can be seen as a binary image of the content of the disk...
if you know VMWare, it does snapshots of the virtual machine running...

I am working on an app in .NET that will catch shell events. Yes, I know that global hooks are not supported in .NET, so I have written a native DLL that implements the hooks and traps the events. This DLL will then raise events to be trapped by the .NET application.
However, I am having problems integrating this DLL into the .NET app. Though I have written DLLs before, I have never implemented events in one so am struggling a bit to figure out how to raise the events such that the .NET client can act upon them.
Have any of you ever done anything like this? I successfully used SetWindowsHookEx() within .NET to trap events for the same thread, and (in pre-.NET days) have used SetWindowsHookEx() in a C++ app successfully. I just seem to be having problems with this hybrid app.

The basical requirement similar to Unix/Linux:
1) when logout, prompt to ask whether you want to save the session. A session can be vaguely defined as the state of user applications running on the machine. It may be extended to include the system services running on the machine as well, if feasible.
2) If you answered yes, then next time you login, all the currently opened applications shall be opened automatically.
3) If you answered no, then the previous (good) session shall be retained for next login. The current session will not be saved.
