Well the Mobile controls in ASP.NET 2.0 return WAP if the browser only accepts wap.

It would be nice to be able to see an article's stats from the "My Articles" section.
For example,
If I have publihshed 2 articles and I go to "My Articles" I only get links to the articles. In order to see how the articles are doing (in terms of popularity and voting) I have to go to each of the articles.
I think it would be neat for the "My Articless" section to display at least the following stats about each article (published by the logged in user):
* Views
* Number of votes the article has received
* Article Rating
* Popularity
* Date/time of last posting (thread) to the article
* Total number of posts to the article
All of the items listed above can be found by navigating directly to the articcle, but it would be nice to have a summary of this data in this section.
Anyway, just an idea ... you guys at CP do a wonderful job

Is it possible to get an email from code projects every time one article presents on the bookmarks is updated.
This way any user that have bookmarks would be notified of updates on his favorites.

If you provide a button 'Followup' (or something) next to each article on the latest articles[^] would be great.
When you click the button (ex: 'Read Later') then it should store (just like new AJAX style voting) into your settigs something like 'My Followups' or 'My Todo Readlist'. (like current My Bookmarks)
Somedays the latest articles list grows so fast, the article which I want to read will be disappear from the list. Then I have to check the old CP newsletters for that article.  Right now it takes long time to go through each article (that too if I don't receive the timeout/500/crunching errors) and decide is it good to store into my bookmarks or not.
If you provide the 'followup articles' option, at my leisure I can just open the followup list and read the articles.

I use browser bookmarks for that, What if CP times out while bookmarking the link you want to bookmark?

Hello All,
I think that it would be helpful to have some indication of the number of results when doing a search. Right now, there is a "Next Page" and "Previous Page", but nothing says how many pages there are, or the number of return results. This would be more handy the more general a search is (if I do a very general search, I don't want to sort through 100's of Next pages).
Speaking of general searches, it might be nice to be able to subsearch within search results.
Also, it would be nice to be able to search a particular area by default (like the Filter in the navigation area on the left), instead of or in addition to just Articles or Authors.

This is probably the only feature missing from The Code Project...I never know how many pages of results there are and never know how good my search actually is.

I think an option to view posts in a forum that have not receivd any responces would be helpful.
For example, my time to assist in VC++ forum is limited. I read most all questions, but I skip responding to those I think soemone else will be able to readily answer. Now, suppose they have gone unanswered for a week or more, it is harder to locate them again without all the overhead of the existing responses to other posts. It would be convenient to somehow review posts that don't have any responses.

Hi !
Something that could be usefull to add on the programming forums: a sticky (don't know if it is the right word ) message that describes how to ask correct questions (so describing that it must be clear, use the code tags if it shows code, ask for a specific question, clear description of the problem, ...). There are quite a lot of questions that cannot be answered due to the lack of information and people need to ask for more infos.
I think that if even a minority of new users take the time to read it before posting, that would be great. And if somebody doesn't follow these rules, we can simply answer by making a link to the message (and, flame the guy without being ashamed of  ).

It's questionable if anyone who needed it would read it... but, might be worth a try.
Alternately, we could start out forum posts (for < bronze posters) with a template:
- Problem statement
- Short code snippet illustrating problem
- heart-felt plea for help
But yeah, if nothing else a sticky post would give us something to hit the lazy ones over the head with...

there are good featured articles but the one shown can change when you navigate back to the home page.
Can we have say a 25-50 item history that is accessed with a right arrow the way you have a right arrow for the list of tutorials?

I think it's about time we had some categories for WPF and WCF stuff. I'm messing around with that WPF at the moment. Perhaps it will trigger a renaisance to the days when this site was all about quality exciting MFC controls.

There have been plenty of complaints over the days/months/years regarding the 500 errors seen here on CP. I am not going to pretend like I know what causes these errors, but I am going to assume that better servers might/would help with this. I'm thinking if you can get everyone (or just some) CPians to donate $1 to you, you would have plenty of money to purchase what you need (this based off the current user base of 2million).
I think everyone can afford $1 and a stamp ...
Just a thought.

A CP Supporter status purchase[^] is a good way to give something back to the community. Slightly more expensive than your $1 suggestion but a small price to pay for a professional resource that makes my programming life better and easier.

I've attempted to talk my company into purchasing from CP before, but to no avail; and I, myself, cannot afford any of this ... plus, I have a company laptop on which I have developer studio, so no real need. Although I admit, if I were in a position to do as much (e.g., single with no kids), I would have no excuse and would gladly purchase everything ... if for no other reason than to have the cool icon next to my name.
I'm already asking for a Bob coffee mug for Christmas this year; as if my wife isn't already trying to figure out why she married me ... now I'm asking her for a coffee cup with an alien on it.

I can't wait. I can't imagine all the improvements it's going to enable. Just the few updates you were able to make have made a great site even better.
I was going to say it would be cool if you posted more about what you were doing with the site, and then I remembered your blog. I haden't checked it out since before the first database updates. I appreciate the mention.  It was good to see every thing you are doing to keep the site running. It might help people understand better if you can think of some way to give it a higher profile on the site.
I hate to bring it up, but on the way to reply to this, I did a search on the lounge and no results are being returned right now for any search terms that I try.
Keep up the great work.
