I just Installed Apache Server on a Windows XP Professional, Apache Server is running properly but when installing php, the server is uploading the files but not running the php scripts within the files.
I configured apache server by the book, it recognizes the PHP file so it reads the HTML tags inside it but it just skips the PHPscripting parts,
Any Ideas about how to solve this problem?

Solved.... Downloaded a file called wamp, it installs everything needed in just 2 mins and everything works fine, if any one wants to try it its on

In VS2005 Beta the oersonal web kit is available, I have loaded and CTR+F5 the I closed the page and tryed to add a user as it says in the doc, the page is loaded and after I click the Security tab this error is shown:
"There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store.
The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

When you upload afile via your browser using HTTP how does this all happen?
I imagine the browser constructs some fancy HTTP headers with the name of the file on your local hard drive and when sent the browser then knows to begin uploading that file?
The reason I ask is becuz I am using the XmlHttpRequest object and cannot figure out if file upload is possible???
I know you can send any header you wish to the server via XmlHttpRequest but I can't see what I describe above as being acceptable for security reasons...
Cuz then you could use XmlHttpRequest on any web site to steal files from a users local machine - which can't be a good thing 
So if this isn't possible, does anyone know if it's possible to upload files via XmlHttpRequest without the use of another IE proprietary activeX like ADODB - which i've read you can use to stream local file data, sending it inside a FORM's textarea...
So...is this possible???

Hi,
I am trying to have to div tags next to each other. In the style propery for each I wwither made float: left, or float:right. And I gave it a width of 50% each. This doe not work in IE. It seems to make each DIV bigger than the allocated 50% and therefore aligns the DIVs below each other. How do I solve this?
And secondly. Lets say I want to display First Name, Last Name, and Email Address for each customer on one line. I do not want to use tables for this. Must a put eack value in a sepeate DIV? Maybe give first name and last name a width of 25% each, and then 50% for email address.
Please can someone help.

First of all, make sure that you have a doctype tag as the first line in the document. You can't put an xml tag in the document, or IE will ignore the doctype tag. If you don't have a doctype, the browser will work in 'Quirks Mode', which will make the browser interpret the html code as browser specific as possible, e.g. like ancient versions of the browser would interpret it.
If you have padding and borders on the elements, their size is added to the specified size, so if you specify a width of 50% and have padding and/or borders, the total width will be more than 50%.
There is a bug in IE where it in some cases will need three extra pixels in the width of the containing element for the elements inside it to fit.
For the customer, put each customer in an element, and each property in an element inside it. Quite similar to how you would do it in xml.

I'm trying to change the position of the IE toolbars, in order to save some space on the screen. When i'm closing the browser and then reopen it, the toolbars are moving back to their default coordinates. Do you know how should i solve this issue?
I'm running IE 6.0 with SP1, on a Win2K machine.

How can I control mouse over event in the server-side code that send Javascript code to the client as follows:

I only like to happen something when I move the mouse pointer over specified area, but only for the first time. For example, when I move mouse pointer over some element on the web page, some code should be executed:
onmouseover=\"javascript: document.body.style.cursor='hand'; window.location='WebForm1.aspx?pointIndex=#INDEX';\
and some flag should be set(?). When I do the same (mouse over) later, that code should be blocked by flag.
But, how can I declare some global variable in the situation above?
Or, is there any other method I can use to resolve this?
I need urgent help.

On the server side, once you get a postback, you can write a javascript to declare a flag variable which will be checked by your onmouseover. Any javascript variables declared outside a function is considered global for that page.

Hi All,
I JUST starting in JS, so pardon my obvious ignorance. I have a little CBM experience, so some of the code structure may look a little funky.
I am trying to clear the screen in a very simple script, but so far all of my research has not found a "native" method.
Is it even possible under JS?
I have tried several methods from various sites, none of which manage to clear the screen ready for the next set of entries.
This IS a problem set by my TAFE tutors, but what I am trying to do is beyond what they have asked for. The program is complete, I just thought it would be nicer to clear the screen if the confirm loop is repeated, instead of scrolling down the page after each operation.

You are using the web page in a quite peculiar way. You are using it as if it were a console window, not a web page. There is no way to clear the screen, at least not the way you are thinking of.
The normal way for a web page to operate is that the entire page is created, then the user interacts with it. If you want to change the contents of the page as the user interacts with it, you create elements and add them into the document structure of the page. You can also hide or remove objects from the document.

In line with what you said, how then would I make the page display a renewable console that opens, displays the results, waits for confirmation of closure or repetition? This is at the moment, beyond my experience.

I'm not sure if I understand the problem correctly but here goes my 2c 
You could put the whole page in a <table> like this:

and in JS, just do something like
getElementById('some_name').visible = false;
That should do it..

Hm.. I'm not sure this will work, but you might try it anyway:

and in JS, maybe you could do something like:
document.getElementById('the_table').innerHtml = "";
and then start writing in it again, with something like:
document.getElementById('the_table').innerHtml += "<tr><td>stuff</td></tr>";
It's just a theory, but do let me know if it works

I would like to know how to Highlight the items in the listbox during onmouseover event. I want it to look the same as the choice list box, in which the mouseover will highlight the item.
when I hold on left mouse button and move cursor over list box, the mouseover will highlight the item. How can I do it without holding the left mouse button?
Is there a way to do this?

I am getting the following error message in Security tab of the Web Site Administration tool:
Value cannot be null. Parameter name: virtualPath
I have only noticed this error when I host the web site on my local IIS in a directory that is not under c:\inetpub\wwwroot\. That is, I have created a separate folder that I web shared to use as the web application folder. The web application runs fine, showing that the web shared folder is set up correctly on the local IIS, but I cannot set up the security / users/ roles in the Web Site Admin tool. I do not observe this problem if the web site folder is under c:\inetpub\wwwroot. Has anyone come accross this problem?

Hi,
I've this error when I directing to another page.
Unable to find script library '/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js'. Try placing this file manually or reinstall by running 'aspnet_regiis -c'.
I've done reinstall many times but I still got this message. I replace the file manually and still doesn't solve. I replace it in 'C:\inetpub\wwwroot'. Is this the correct location ?
