in this way u can use the hidden value concept...
when u will go to the next page u can reterive the value of this variable... by using request("variable_name")...
* remember this hidden value tag should be present under the form tag....

hi,
i have used a datagrid control to display the data in my aspx page.
i have also set the validation controls to required fields and it works!
but it works a bit too well!!
let me explain the scenario a little bit.
i have used template columns for all the data fields and at the footer of each column, i have placed an empty textbox for accepting new records.
Furthermore i have a separate template column to show the edit, save/update and cancel buttons, and at the footer of this column i have placed another set of buttons for saving the new entered data.
i have placed a required filed validation for one of the fields 'User Id'. this validation is also at the footer of the column, therefore it checks for the insertion of a NEW User Id. When the no data is entered, the validation works and the error messege is diplayed. also the save button for the new record does not work. but the problem is that the edit buttons dont work as well. and i want all the other buttons to work except for the saveing the new record.
well i have explained a bit too much havent i? sorry about that! i have tried to be as short as possible.
but please is there any way around this. i am also willing to use javascript, but i am not very familiar with its use. so please recommend me some good links or code.

a have a webform written in asp.net with a hidden field on it is there a way i can get the info from the hidden field when i get to the next web page like i could do in asp like "Request.Form["test"]" would return me what was in the test hidden field from the prev page

Move to the first record and then Move to the Next Record for RandomValue times.
You can do this, if you don't have too much records.

Hello All,
I have a webservice that im deploying to several of my local test servers. I usually bring up the webservice.asmx page on the server and call a couple of functions just for testing. Well, on one of the servers, a windows 2000 box, it does indeed of the .net framework 1.1 and iis is running, the page doesnt come up. It shows something like this:
<%@ WebService Language="c#" Codebehind="CProcurementService.asmx.cs" Class="com.emphasysworld.procurementservice.CProcurement" %>
on a plain blank white page. If I try to access the page from a computer other than the server, it ask's me to download the page. It seems to run just fine on the other servers. Any suggestions?

i am programming website i am using asp and javascript ... what i am trying to do is i have have take 4 drop down boxes and on the change of ones value other is changing its value ...it is working fine at the end of the table there is one imge button when i am trying to submit that form ... it is taking me back to the same page ..what i want is that on click on the button form should go to next page...
i am trying javascript : action but it is not working well please help me out..

I have received a number of suggestions regarding a recent post on binding a dropdownlist. None have solved the problem. I recently did an experimient where I copied some working code into a new project. This new project, used tables from my current data base rather then the original. It to has a problem.

Hi,
if you need to do it in c# (i.e. server side) then in the buttons click event handler you can add a startup script....
e.g.
protected void Button_OnClick(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
Page.RegisterStartupScript("NewWinScript", "<script>window.open('someurl.aspx');</script>");
}
Then when the postback occurs and the click event fires the page will emit javascript to open the window.
However, unless you genuinely need to have a postback occur, you'd be better off just handling this purely on the client (saves a server round trip)....
e.g.
<input type="button" id="btnOpenWin" value="Open Window" onclick="window.open('someurl.aspx');">
