Hmmm, where can I find info on what the cat numbers are. I've tried cat=1 hoping that it would be C#, but it seems to be C# plus some other stuff. Precisely, do you happen to know the link for C# articles? Thanks.

On the homepage, select the tab for the types of articles you want to see and then scroll down the page to the "Last 10 updates" list. There is the RSS button/link. That will only include articles for the tab-section you chose.
This is the C# one[^]

Thanks. I found it on the "Last 10 updates (category: C#)" heading. It's very well hidden in the entire orange scheme of colors with the button having the same color! Nice!!

Messages on the messageboard are timestamped, and the times shown are some hours off from where I am (in Norway). I keep forgetting how many hours off the CP timezone is to mine, so it would be helpful if either:
- You change the timestamp to Norwegian time.  (Would be helpfull for me and probably a handfull of other CPians)
- Shift the displayed times to local time for where the reader is. (Dunno how you would this, perhaps a setting in "My Settings"...)
- Put the current time (the time the page was dl'ed) somewhere in the page...

p.s I have in my computer East-american time  Right now it shows 16:52, while clock next to computer shows 22:52 That's because of NBA...

I was wondering if there is a way to flag an article to recieve an email notification when ever the article is upfated? If there is no such option, what would it take to make it?

Not as yet.
To add such an option will require some serious reworking. We have nearly 2 million accounts and over 9,000 articles which amounts to potentially a lot notifications to process and a lot of emails.

That tag doesn't appear to work.
I just submitted an article that contained some sql code, I put <pre lang=sql> in front of the sql code and closed it properly, it shows preformatted ok, but the syntax highlighting appears to be c++.

You wrapped you PRE tags with CODE tags. PRE is for blocks, CODE is for inline text such as variable names. Also note that the SQL syntax colorizer doesn't include some keywords and is case sensitive. We've got a new one but we're still building infrastructure in order to move it into place.

Ahh! I understand now. I thought pre was just to preserve formatting and code was required to indicate it was code for the colorization process to take place.

just a note, this may have been fixed in the more recent version that isn't in place yet, but I noticed the current sql colorizer doesn't seem to recognize multiline comment style like this:

We've forked out the money to get audited so we have accurate and unbiased figures on how many people are viewing the site per month. The include is meant to have almost zero impact on load time. Can you please do a tracert to the realmedia server and send it to me? I'll yell loudly for you if there's a problem.

The only times i see problems are when i'm connected through VPN... unfortunately, tracert doesn't do anything useful in that scenario, as i'm using a proxy. For the time being, i'm just grounding the server name in my hosts file on my work machine. It hasn't caused significant delays on my home machine, so i'll leave that be.

Hi,
I would like to suggest a few things in order to improve the article rating system:
1.)
Is it possible to add a download counter to codeproject? When writing articles this could give a better indication for the popularity than the popularity as it is at the moment or the number of hits.
As the author i would like to know how many people actually downloaded the archives in order to estimate if it is worth to put more work on it. Also if you include the number of downloads you will get a better estimate for the overall popularity of an article.
2.)
Why not include the number of forum entries into the popularity. After all if people ask about a project they are interested in it.
3.)
Members should be allowed to change their vote after an article has been updated. Sometimes I find articles which I rated badly but the article changed since and the original vote does no longer reflect my opinion.
