Hi,
i'm using CHtmlView to display HTML GUI in my app. But i was wondering why the buttons in the application dialogs ( inheriting CDialog ) are with XP style, and those in the html placed in the html view are old style ( flat )

I draw one rectangle with handles.And also i draw another rectangle same as first one .These two rectagles are intersected in some portion.The intersected area handle is not shown.How to show the handle in the intersected area.

I think you have to set your drawing to use XOR so it will invert the color bits where the handles are drawn. That gets them to show up even if there is intersection. You do the same drawing again with the XOR to 'undraw' the handles.

hi..
Can anybody tell me how to go about this..
My application requires the key entered on a telephone (PSTN phone connected to usb port using an adapter).. to appear on the screen (edit box provided by me to hold the phone number)..
The thing is, I dont know from where to start.. Is TAPI is what i require to study??? .. I need not worry about the networking part of it.. Just collect voice from telephone and save it and play it back.. (one module that is playing back of wave files is done.. i am doing the recording of voice using microphone at present..)
... Awaiting suggestions..

Basically: Yes. To control a phone (or a PBX) TAPI normaly is the way to go.
But: You need a TAPI driver. You can only control phones and PBX's that have a TAPI driver. In your case, I think the adapter you use to connect the phone to the PC must have a TAPI driver.

And here is your next problem. Most TAPI drivers support TAPI version 2.x. But TAPI 2.x does not support capturing the voice stream of the phone. Capturing voice streams from the phone is optionally supported by TAPI 3.x. But just optionally. So even if you have a TAPI 3.x driver for your phone/adapter it's unsure if it supports capturing voice streams.

I have a similar setup. On my PC the phone becomes another sound device. I just use DirectX's DirectSound to record. The tricky bit is to record from a non-default device. Look at the DirectSound samples in the DirecrtX SDK for examples on how record, and how to set the recording and playing device you require. DirectX 9c SDK[^]. As for button presses the PSTN adaptor has a COM interface that send messages when a button is pressed.
Also I use the Microsoft RTC API SDK[^] to make SIP telephone calls. A PSTN gateway is also required.

Hello Jerry
I have written a program that records voice spoken over microphone .. Will the same program work if mircophone is replaced by the PSTN telephone ?
My job is to record the outgoing calls.. I need not take care of VOIP or networking part of it..
How to interact with the COM interface to make buttons pressed on the phone to appear on the screen.. Can you suggest some links or sample code for the same.. i will be very thankful..

It all really depends on how your PSTN adaptor works. My adaptor appears as a second sound card. I then just simply record from the micrphone on the PSTN adaptor. I use DirectX to record.
Can you see an extra sound card on your system? I have another PSTN->IP adaptor that this method wouldn't work for.

No .. there is no extra sound card.. the phone adapter is connected to usb port and uses the standard usb driver.. the client driver is getting programmed .. Please excuse me if something is wrong.. I am new to programming such application that needs to communicate with the device drivers.. also VC++ is new to me..
I am recording sound using MCI..
...
Require some guidance..

Can somebody tell me how to go about writing data from the controls to ini files.
I know tht i can use WritePrivateProfileString function but i wanted to know what intializations i will be required to do as in creating a section etc before i can follow the synatx of writing into an ini file.
Also i wanted to know how I can store multiple values for a control(combo box) into the same key using a loop or count.

When you create a entry into ini file using above api, it itself create a file is doesn't exists, it itself create a section if doesn't exist and it itself overwrite the key if it exists.

I have compiled a MFC dialog-based application. The GUI is organizedas follows:
The application window is dialog-based and has the following on it:
1) Main dialog window has on it i)CListCtrl-1, ii)CTabCtrl-1
2) CTabCtrl-1 has on it 2 property pages. One of the property pages has a CListCtrl-2. (The other property page is irrelevant here)
At the GUI-level, I want to achieve the following:
"When an item in CListCtrl-1 is selected, the CListCtrl-2 should get populated with some values"
What I am unable to do:
I have added a message handler for CListCtrl-1 on the NM_CLICK event, but don't know how to get a pointer to CListCtrl-2 from the Main Dialog.
I have sufficient experience with VC++ - any help even outlining a technique of doing this (although code is always welcome) will be highly appreciated.

GetDlgItem is not of any help, directly, but yes it has some role to play.
Meanwhile, I have worked out the solution and it seems to work well. Here's what I did:
a) I am persisting the pointers to all dialogs that the TabCtrl-1 will hold. (Simply putting them in a "CDialog *m_tabPages[4];" variable)
b) Now I am simply doing the following
CListCtrl * ptrToCListCtrl-2=(CListCtrl * )(TabCtrl.m_tabPages[0]->GetDlgItem(CListCtrl-2));

Hallo everybody, I am developing in Visual C++ and i finish my application, but now i have a seious dudad because i want that my application start when Windows XP start too without i do double click in the exe file of my application.
