I recently had a look at the windows media format sdk 9 and tried to write a simple audio player using the sdk. Currently I met trouble in playing more than one audio files. I modified the AudioPlay example by rewritting it using mfc. Currently when I handle WMT_EOF in the OnStatus method to open another audio file. The program hangs and could not open the audio file. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello,
If I create a new project in MFC and work with it. its ok.
But if I close is and try to open the project and try to build I get this error;
fatal error C1853: 'Release/Test.pch' is not a precompiled header file created with this compiler
And Its stand on: #include "stdafx.h"
What I have try;
1) Delite all the files in the Debug and Release folder.
2) Clean and rebuild all
Byt I still get this error. Is it possible to make it work. And way does it work at the first time I start working with the project and not after?.
There is in 2 *.cpp files I get this error at the same file.

Go in the menu Projects | Settings and then search in it to see Precompiled header files and choose not use the precompiled header files... I'm not sure where this option and I can't tell you cause I'm not home and I can't access VS but try that I remember it is somewhere in that menu for sure.

Hey it's me I'm home now!!!
OK then I'm not sure if your problem is cause by that after all but try it...
Go in the menu Projects --> Properties and then in the tree on the left go in C/C++ section and then Precompiled Headers and on the right now in the first box (it's a combo box) choose "Not using precompiled headers".
If it doesn't work with that I don't know what's the problem.

Ok I find it.
But Now I get;

By verifying that the file exists. Does it?
What does the statement, and any above it, look like that generates this error? What extension does the referencing file have?

I have created a simple MFC MDI application using the MFC application wizard and apparently it creates a child window when I start the application. The application I'm writing ONLY provides the possibility to open certain files. This means that I do NOT want a child window when i start the application.
Is there some way i can avoid this 'default' behaviour, without having to create child windows myself (through 'Create' or 'LoadFrame')?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well....i found the reason for this behaviour. The 'CCommandLineInfo' class, which is commonly created in the 'InitInstance' of the 'CWinApp' derived class, contains a 'CCommandLineInfo::FileNew' command by default. You can prevent a child frame from being created by assigning a 'FileNothing' command to the 'm_nShellCommand' attribute:

Hi,
I encountered an refresh problem in my aplication. The aplication is an "multitabet view" aplication.It has 3 parent tabs and each tab has another 3 tabs. The problem is that when I switch between tabs the "new active view" doesn't refresh or let's say that the activwx crtl (an spread ctrl) apears for a moment and then just disappears. I tried with setting the clipchildren property but has no effect.
What can I do to fix this???

Hi,
I encountered an problem with starting my program on windows98 platform. The error say's:
"Windows cannot run this program because it is in an invalid format!"
What did I do wrong?? Is it maybe compiled in unicode or what??? (how can I check this??)

I'm working in MFC. The program is dynamicly linked to in and has 3 different activex ctrl's but they didn't do any problem in the previous version.

Does this message come from the OS or from your program? Does your program fail to work on all Windows 98 machines or just the one? Is it possible to reproduce the problem with a smaller program (i.e., create a new MFC program and add to it until the problem appears)? Have you recently installed Win32 or any AV software on the Windows 95 machine?

The message come from the OS. I tried a few win98 machines and all of them give me the same error. I will try to reproduce a smaler program with the same error (like I said the previous version worked just fine - I set the compile parameters from the previous version but nothing).

I am working in MFC. In my application, I wrote a thread function which continouly checks for a update in a file in one particular directory. This thread should stop when clicked on a button. I have used ReadDirectoryChangesW for getting notification of the file change. To end the thread I waited on a STOP event i.e checking for it to end the thread.
But the m_StopEvent event is not caught beacuse the control is stuck at while( ReadDirectoryChangesW) I mean it not going inside the while loop unless ReadDirectoryChangesW returns true.

The way I see is to put the wait function in the while condition with the or operator...

Unless it is not what you would like to do. The way I see your problem is that you want ReadDirectoryChangesW to check the directory and kill the thread if it see a change OR when the user click on the button.
