You need to download the directX9.0 SDK. It has documentation in their for all such things. Specifically look up Directshow, there is an example program called "playwnd" or you may be able to download it seperately. It has code in there for play back video streams, and audio.
But you will need to read the directshow info from the help to understand how to use it. Once you do though its dead easy to create complex multimedia apps.

Hello, I have a serious problem because i'm programming a application that connect 2 computers and the first computer send to the second the user of windows and de user of the device that is plug in and the other computer authentificate my id's with a OK, but i don't know how can i send the user of windows and the id of the device and the other computer can understand this information. If somebody can help me, thank you very much.

Thanks for this article, but i'm not sure yet because i know how can i send and reciev datas like in this example but i don't know how can i get the id of the device and the id user of windows and send together to the server and the server will check if it's correct because the server has to check that the user session has this id device and if it has it, then it's correct and the server send ok.
I don't know how can hel me this article, but thank you very much, but you have some ideas?.

Hi,
I have following question.
I have created Dialog based application. Now I 'd like to add a chart to the same dialog (simple chart with x and y axis -maybe sth like there is in Windows Task Menager). Is this possible to do in mfc?

There are two ways to handle it. Either you paint the dialog box yourself or use some ActiveX control like the one provided by Microsoft. I think better option is to use the one provided by MS. Right-click on dialog and click InsertControl... This will show you all the registered controls on your system. Use Microsoft Chart Control and this will ease your task.

i have a program that displays a lot of images.....these images are needed each time the rpogram runz.....but if i were to put these picturez in my exe(that is in the resourse) the exe getz huge.....i dont want it that way.....so iz there anyway i can do that by using dll(ps:i have no knowledge abt working with dllz).....
can anyone get me ideaz here??.....

Yes, you can move the images to a DLL but then doesn't that DLL become huge, too? You'd also have an extra file to ship. Why does a large EXE bother you?

You might also consider using some form of file compression on the images and then expand them into memory. I have seen VERY large bitmaps compress down to much smaller sizes. You can store the compressed images as RC_DATA and then load them from the resources, then expand them into memory. That would save you some space.

Hi all.
I've written a Visual C++ 6.0 software to calculate the Italian (Codice Fiscale) say that it is like U.S. SSN.
To calculate the C.F. (Codice Fiscale) i use a text file, comma delimited, to find City codes; it works fine.
Now I wander if is possible to embed the text file in the executable to have a compact software made of only one file. Condider that the text file is 247Kb

I have searched for a way to get the instance handle of the module that my code is executing in.
AfxGetInstanceHandle function available, but only when running as an MFC dll.
GetModuleHadndle is available, but requires the path of the dllm which I don't have.
I cannot inject code in DllMain to "remember" the instance handle because I don't have
access to it.
I have a solution that is quite extensive using "Process Helper", "PE Image Helper" APIs and are quite time consuming. I hope to find a better way of doing it. Probably there exist a way for it, but I haven't found it yet.
Does anybody have a solution for it?

Actually you do. First make a call to GetModuleFileName(...).
