i made new form named form1
inside i added label1
and panel1
inside the panel i made dynamic CONTROLBOXES each is abutton ( i mean add some buttons with small loop)
i wand to hide label when click event occurs on one of the buttons
Label.visible = off
this on the click event gives me the controlBox not the form
this is the main problem.
please help me how can i know who is the father of button and who is the father of panel ???
(do i have to sent this (of the form) for each button ??

Where did you define the event handler for the Click event? If it's defined inside your form1 class, the this keyword should give you access to the current instance of form1.
Anyway, to get the parent container of a control simply use its Parent property.

There are some programs that claim to improve performance. None of them work. Windows knows how to manage memory properly to get the best performance. The basic concept of a "performance booster" app is to move memory around so that you have more physical memory available. Although this might help once in a while you'll get bottlenecks when you switch to a different app that has been transfered to the PF. So basically its best to leave everything to Windows and design your apps to perform well in the first place.

I think your talking about "trainers"? Good luck, cause what your doing is poking numbers directly into the memory space of the game itself. There are no document (from a reliable source, anyway) that will teach you how to do this. It's sort of a black art that you figure out on your own.

Don't believe everything you read. This will not give you the kind of performance kick that they would lead you to believe. You'll get, MAYBE, a 5% boost in some apps. There's only so much you can do with what's in memory. The CPU will not execute instructions any faster, and it only tweaks some settings for network communications that reduce the wasted bandwidth, which is already small to begin with. The only way you'll notice any performance gain there is if your using dial-up. Cable modem users won't see any pickup at all.

Hi,
just assume for one second there really where programs which would make a windows pc overall faster. Wont you think Microsoft would buy it for 547 Quatillion Dollars to integrate it into the standard windows? 
And I think there is a difference between normal accelerators and speed hacks for games (although they can be bundled in one program). By the second one I understand a program which alters the normal behaviour of a program. One example: A game restricts you to only shoot once a second. This could be done by not handling key events in this given timespan. A speed hack program could now handle the keystroke and directly make the game do the fire command. This can be done even better for online games where not the server controls those things but the client app. The hack tool just needs to send the right commands to the server (without having to tackle with the client).

I'm pretty sure that SharpDevelop has a VB.NET to C# code converter in it and also I think it has a converter that does the opposite.

I have a situation where I am utilizing code from MSDN to insert XLS files into a Microsoft Access Table in a column of Ole Object using VBA and DAO. That code also provides me with a method to extract the XLS files later. This works wonderfully.

I next transfer that data to a Dataset and then to SQL Server. I found the following articles on MSDN which show how to insert and extract BLOB data using Visual C#.
The Articles are

These work on extracting XLS files which were previously inserted using C# but fail to extract readable copies from the XLS files previously inserted via VBA.
Things I have noticed.
1. The OLE Object size in Access is twice the size of the original file.
2. When the OLE Object is extracted using VBA-DAO, the file size is back to that of the original file.
2. The OLE Object size in Access is equal to the BLOB size in SQL Server.
3. When the BLOB is extracted via C# from SQL Server, the extracted file size matches the BLOB size exactly.
Please Help!
Does VBA-DAO and OLE Objects included some sort of encoding on insertion which I must replicate C#?

How do I find out the version number of a .NET DLL from within that DLL?
I tried:

The AssemblyVersionAttribute Class[^] isn't a custom attribute. In order to get the version information (usually as a Version[^] object) you have to use the AssemblyName.Version[^] property. And if a method is supposed to retrieve the version of its own assembly you can use Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()[^] to get the assembly and Assembly.GetName()[^] to get the AssemblyName object.

An application, written using Visual Studios 2002 .NET, everything works perfectly. Recently, I migrated all of the code into Visual Studios 2003 .NET (built a new project and imported files.)
This is a windows C# application, by the way.
On the live machines, the application is experiencing very strange behavior. For instance:
- Custom buttons not placing correctly
- Handlers being fired more than once
- Concurrency violation errors
- Objects being disposed at the wrong time
On my development machine, I'm seeing some of the issues, but not all of them. I am not getting the concurrency violation or mis-fired handlers on my development machine, but I am seeing the buttons not placed correctly and objects sometimes disposed of at the wrong time. I tried running the application on a separate development machine, and it also gave me the same behavior as my first development machine.
None of these issues occurred when the application was compiled and run using visual studios 2002 .NET. I have checked and double-checked the environments between the live and development machines, and the .NET Framework is the same version (1.1.4322) and the .exe files are identical. There are no additional dependencies other than an Access DB file.

Hello,
My SQL Server registration name is TEAM01\xxx
I could not access this SQL Server via .NET Sql connection string.And I get an error message.
.NET code is like this:

How can I rename this SQL Server registration name or how can I correct this connection string?

Hi guys and girls,
What I am trying to do is find out what the user entered into the Folder option of an install.
I have a c# project with a standard installer project created with VS 2003. I would have thought there was a simple way to find out where the user choose to put the app and then use that information to create an entry in the registry to launch the app on startup.
I can create the reg entry and make it work if I use the default install path, I just need to know how to get the actual path and I can't find a way!
Any help would be great

Hi!
You could create a custom action to save the installation path.
When calling the custom action you can give the installation path as argument, using the [INSTALLDIR] installer variable in the call arguments.
In this case you have to be careful to get the parameter escapes right (IIRC you'll have to put a single '\' after [INSTALLDIR] if it's the last parameter).
Or you use reflection in your custom action dll to find out where it's run from and then extract the path to the assembly from that.
Surely there are several other ways to perform this task, too. Other suggestions anyone?

Run Regmon from SysInternals when you run your install program to see where in the registry it puts the data. Then use regedit to look at the value of the registry setting on the target directory on the machine in question.

Cheers for your replies guys, just incase anyone else gets stuck on this I'll put what I eventually did.
Added a reg entry into either
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Create a new string value and call it what you like. Then as the value put [TARGETDIR]App_Name.exe.
Simple when you know how so I hope others dont have to waste a day on it like I have!
