Hello,
Setting the edit box text via SetWindowText does not work inmediatelly if you set it from one of the handlers of your dialog. Instead, the update will happen only after the handler ends its run.
void CDemoDlg::OnNewBnClicked()
{
GetDlgItem(IDC_EDIT)->SetWindowText("New");
<font color=#FF0000>
}
If I replace the Edit Control with a static control, the text is updated inmediatelly.
I guess that the answer is the use of SendMessage and PostMessage.
Is there a way to update an edit control inmediatelly and not wait till the handler ends?
If you want to display for example the results when the user moves a slidebar, the edit control will not be updated until the cursor stops.
Any hint? (I need an edit control there

Hi,
Recently I have been assigned an interesting project that consumes the concept of SMSing. There is going to be a commercial web site that will help organisations to send bulk SMSs. But before that I would be making a core SMS engine that will be responsible for sending and recieving SMSs. Another requirement is that this SMS engine should be able to plug-in with our other web applications and could easily use it for sending SMSs. Please suggest how should I start with this thing. Should I create web service for it? Configuration and usability of this engine with other applications will be my topest priority.
Please guide me with this experts if you can.

Hello,
I'm looking for an idea on how to implement a control that contains
cells that are "rhombus" (or diamonds) that can be colored. That is,
have a control that has diagonal lines in the two directions (NW to SE and NE to SW):
+--------------+
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
+--------------+
And the generated diamonds should be filled or painted with a color, when each diamond could have a different color, the diamond lines also can be present or not.
Any hint on how to implement this with MFC?

Some math and MoveTo/LineTo calls should do the trick. To fill each diamond, I would probably draw the outline of it with MoveTo/LineTo and then do a FloodFill to paint the interior.
onwards and upwards...

Hello!
I've been reading all these articles about rotating, scaling and so on. Also about how to add comments to pics.
My question is wheter it's possible to generate a image-file (jpg, gif or bmp for example) from text only. More precise: You put in some text in a Textbox, say "1/2", then I'd like to generate a picture with a fraction, with the numbers on top of eachother. (since my explanation might be a bit hard to get check this out:
http://www.hargelid.se/mathprob.jpg)
This means i must parse the expression, put the "1" in a specified position, draw a line and put the "2" in another specified position.
Is there any components doing this already? Any other suggestions are also welcome.
The closest I've got is Soft4sciences MathML Renderer (http://www.soft4science.com/fr_index.html?/products/MathML_Renderer/s4s_MathML_Renderer.htmlbut I would very much like to skip the whole MathML-step.
Maybe it's not possible, but maybe someone can tell me that =)
Thanks in advance from a stuck one....

The simplest way to convert a date to its various parts is the "format" function.
Exp.
Dim sDay as string
sDay = 21-09-2004
sDay = Format(sDay, "dddd")
Msgbox sDay

I would like to see an article concerning creating a MDI based app using VC++ (6.0) and ADO connecting to either an SQL or MS Access dB. Each view would have to connect to a different table.
What I really need is just some good design structure and class lay out. Any help is appreciated, if you know of an existing article and can provide a link that would be great.
If I have posted this in the wrong forum please let me know as so I may post it in the correct one.
Thanks for everyone’s time and consideration in this matter.

I'm a beginner I'm afraid but from what I've read I think that it should be possible to develop a simple table with just 3 rows and 1 column where the header and footer remain static but the contents of the middle row can be scrolled. Can anyone help me or recommend a good (simple) book?

All,
I am looking for a code which retrieves a HTML source for a given website. I got few but none of the code really works for all websites. Some has security issues, some has timeout issues, some has redirect issues, some has session management issues. I am looking for the code which works for all kinds of websites.
given a website say www.xyz.com/default.aspx I want to retrieve the HTML source(same as when this page get rendered). I want to achieve this without any UI.
If somebody post an article it would be very helpful for everyone.
Thanks,
Anand
