Monday's had a special tradition. I'd go to the pub to watch the football and the landlord would give me my bill for the weekend. You could guess the size of it by the broadness of his grin.
When it broke 100,000ft [£300] he'd be laughing his tats off as he danced around the bar to present me with the damage. I always tried to pay up straight faced and without comment. And that was only one bar!

What's 'Bunga Bunga'?

Rob Philpott.

That's left me a bit confused, but on balance it sounds like a good thing. I'd ask for it up front.

Rob Philpott.

As to the joke; when I heard it back in the 80s it was "bumba" (u as in put) and the punchline was "death by bumba".

Nagy Vilmos wrote: Out to dinner with some Italians tonight!
Oh, boy. The reason why Italians (and latinos in general) are known as great lovers is because Italian women are one of the toughest to pick. By the time we are 18 they've already had at least five years of hard training in love matters (you know...self confidence faking, spontanous behaviour faking, serious intentions faking, mind games, and all other stuff that gets women so aroused thinking its real).
So it is going to be difficult, my friend. Unless you have a sixpack in which case you can be "just the way you are" and dont need a character because an average woman will simply imagine it and project it over you - youll be interesting, have a sense of humor and deep in her eyes even if you are dead.
Good news is bunga-bunga is different. It is not offered, it is sold. So of all things dont forget your wallet.

Is going Mrs. The Wife to come with you?
Does she read the Lounge messages?

Mrs Wife is certainly going.
No, she doesn't read the lounge - TFFT

Had a 142 mph gust recorded on Aonach Mor at 6am this morning.
There are trees down around the place, a chimney stack was blown off a house, trampolines leaving and arriving in folks gardens, hay bales (the big round ones) ended up on the main Aberdeen South dual carriageway. Schools are closed due to power failures and trains north of the city are cancelled.

The old council HQ which is sheeted off ready for teardown has had a few sections of the sheeting blown off as you can see in the webcam http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/xwc_Webcam.asp?cam=broadstreet[^]
Wind is easing off a wee bit, and the temperature is due to start falling this afternoon and snow arrive tonight.
Not that I'll be bothered, I have a works do so will be sat in the pub stocking up the bodies anti-freeze.

It's like the great storm of 87, except with actual high winds and less news coverage.

Yep, and that is the temperature started dropping and the hailstones now started......it has gone from 7'C to 1.5'C in the last 3 hours.
Maybe I should go and put my winter tyres on the car, or maybe I should just stay inside and continuing playing with my Raspberry Pi and Gertboard with the heating on .

Stay inside is my vote! I *have* to go out - that beer in the pub won't drink itself.

Lunchtime for me - around 12:30. Then after the girls get home, I'll head into London around 5 for dinner at 7. Hopefully we'll be home by pumpkins.

I am off kids duties today, the wife picks them up from school today and takes them to swimming lessons, I will be away by the time they get home, then the baby sitter is due to arrive about 6 and the wife is heading out to different works do. She also has another one on Friday while I will be going on a Kids/Dads laser quest night with my eldest's teacher and the rest of her classes dads, that should be a hoot. I think we are both out on Saturday (not quite sure what yet) and the kids are off staying somewhere else, so get a 'lie in'
Back offshore on Tuesday for a rest, before getting home on the 24th.
Edit: Also negotiated that the wife will do the school run tomorrow, so I haven't got a care in the world what Time or State I get home/into tonight.

I have provisionally also booked a seat on the 23rd, as my replacement will be doubled up with me and he is happy if I scoot off a day early.

I guess that with the London Thames Flood Barrier in use, you'll be fine. Me, on the other hand, have a severe flood warning for 10.30pm tonight.

Ahhh, the storm. I thought you had been munching on some baked beans.
It does sound like that storm was packing quite a punch.
