HTML-NN (where NN is an integer) will have a future on your browser.
HTML2 is still in use all over the place

I think it really depends on the platform you're writing for. If you're writing desktop stuff (yeah, I know, the desktop is dead, yadda yadda) like I do you may not even care about HTML much. OTOH if it's extensions are fast enough and you're writing web stuff, yeah. I've been studying it myself and don't really buy that native machine apps (Win8) have to be written in a markup language in the first place. It's one way of doing things, I guess, but I don't think it's the broad brush that everyone wants it to be.

Consider the following article: Iran and US are buddies![^]
According to Iran one minute the USA is the great Satan and must be destroyed and the next minute the USA isn't doing enough to help stabilize the Middle East.
According to the USA one minute Iran is an unstable dictatorship seeking to cause the destruction of the world and the next minute it is a possible ally in the fight against ISIS.
Both accuse each other of arming ISIS.
It isn't even a question of believing either government - there isn't a coherent story out there to believe. To call these guys liars is premature on my part because the story they tell is so ethereal, insubstantial, and ridiculous that elevating it to a lie gives it more credit than it is worth. At best, these politicians aren't liars, they're coked up alcoholics covered in leaves and piss mumbling to themselves in the park.

Well, I tried running away from Office (especially after they added the Ribbon) but that didn't work...

Yeah, but if you run for public office, you cant hide from it (meaning after work hours).
The pressure is so immense that you would have to ditch the cat and wife, and replace this with a goldfish and a lover. If the wife doesn't agree, get a motorcycle and a unique helmet and drive to her each night. That way your wife can make a fortune on books about you, and you can then break off the arrangement, and get an even younger lover. There are of course several variations of this, as you might opt in for a surprise visit to her in Argentine, but here it's really just up to your imagination. (And being in politics where daily dealings with the press and your public opinion bureau is a must, your imagination should be quite substantial as the years move on.)
No, best not to get involved into politics

The media have always been biased, they are either too left, too right or too centre ground. I have discovered that I need to read as many views from as many angles as I can to get something nearing the truth, with all its own inherent complexity, of news stories.
One of my own favourite sources is Private Eye which has managed to get itself sued a number of times due to the habit of shamelessly treading on the toes of the rich and powerful.

Liars is not the right term. "Agendaists" -- people who say things based on their agenda, which may be true or false (mostly false though)

You're missing the key point. Both govts are made up of politicians; meaning they're liars by definition.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

It's actually fairly simple. It depends on the issue at hand:
1) Islam vs Not-Islam - USA and Iran are not friendly
2) Arabs behaving badly - USA and Iran are friendly

Oh my. Iran is not Arab. Persian, if you will, though that really only accounted for one province and the Greeks messed up the name, anyway.

I am looking for a freeware package that will let me create my own UML diagrams.
Checking SnapFiles, FreewareHome, and MajorGeeks, as well as asking Google, Yahoo, and Bing for their suggestions, these were my quick results...
- "Dia" Looks like the best
- "Altova" - Did not like it
- "Visual Paradigm" - Did not like it
- "Violet" - Looked interesting.
Is "Dia" the best freeware UML generator for the time being ?
I welcome feedback from those who really know UML well
