Fixed? As defined by who?
Probably not. Republitards are legislating their "god given opinion" instead of listening to the National Academy of Sciences which was setup to advise the government on science issues because, well, politicians are not scientists!

"Scientists" are just as willing to take money to say the "right thing" as anyone else is. It's almost impossible to determine what's really happening regarding the climate in general because it's very likely that data is being "massaged" to say what the massager (or their financial benefactor) wants it to say. We can't even get straight up reports anymore without wondering if the data's been manipulated.

True, to a point. It only takes a couple of bribed politicians to write this law.
But, how many scientists would have to be bribed to make the opposite argument? Thousands upon thousands of them. There isn't just a couple of studies and papers that have come to this conclusion. There are thousands of them that have, and not all looking at the problem from the same point of view or using the same data set.
That's why I don't buy that argument.
John Simmons / outlaw programmer wrote: We can't even get straight up reports anymore without wondering if the data's been manipulated.
All data is manipulated in one way or another, to filter out noise. This is the process that most anti-climate change people jump on without bothering to understand the process and exactly why it's done.
Yes, there are those that have gone too far when manipulating data. Those are outnumbered by the thousands of others who didn't.

Exactly. Funny how data that was available online before 2008 which demonstrated global cooling is no longer available. Something to do with, "if you want funding, the correct answer is..."

First, people are stupid everywhere. EVERYWHERE. So don't pull this "only in America" crap.
Second, Rachel Madcow is a liberal media shill, paid to discredit and demean conservative groups, people and ideas, as well as advocate for the myth we all know as "global warming".
I though we here on CodeProject were a bit too intelligent to be caught up in the political agenda of mainstream media hype.
And for the record, this goes for ALL politicians. If you think for a minute that any politician IN ANY COUNTRY has normal citizens' interests at heart, you should probably just shoot yourself in the head right now.

Myth? That's a very narrow view on the things happening on earth, don't you think?

The myth they are trying to foist off on today's generally clueless population is absurd to those with just a smattering of proper education. Sure, the global climate is affected by humans, but it's affected by EVERYTHING. Data is being manipulated to push an agenda of global depopulation "for the sake of the planet". Don't be fooled.

So you agree with the theory that humanity affects climate. It is changed by everything indeed, but the process is rolling way faster with our doing. It can't be stopped, yes, but we can change something to slow the progress down eh?
You lost me on the part of depopulation, how would that work? I don't see any laws for that, and also manipulated data, most of that comes from the big player, USA, everybody lost trust in the US. Speculation about manipulated data is on the same level like speculation about true data, no one knows. Since everybody lost confidence in each other, who tells the truth? Is it you, me, anybody else?

Screaming that it's not only in America as your opening remark is exactly the kind of thing that convinces most people outside that the opposite is indeed true. Dismissing a verbatim quotation as a liberal media con simply proves it beyond doubt.

I know that quite a lot of those in the UK list on that website are not true.
There is an oft held belief that if an old law has not been specifically repealed then it is still in effect but that is not true as any newer legislation that would contradict an old law would make the old law ineffective from then on.

Name ANY country, and I can cite a reasonably recent news article about stupid shit happening in said country. If you're gonna point and laugh, make sure the next rock thrown doesn't shatter your own glass walls.

Ever check out her bio?
She went to school, then went to school, then went to school some more. Immediately after that, she brought her wide-ranging experience to the airwaves.
Yeah, she's basically a spokesmodel with a PhD.

Come on John. Need I point out that politicians are well-known to be paid shills, more so than the media.
Follow the money...
You're going to have to show the money trail on Maddow to prove she's a paid shill.
All we have to do is look at campaign contributions on any politician to prove it there.
