Not as easy as it looks to set these buggers, is it?

Does that mean I solved a bit "not easy" FOSW by chance?

Um... Personally, I'd have to say "no" - but I'm still learning these things, and it was Abhinav's first time. These things are harder to set than too solve!
I suspect that in a couple of months our definition of 'not easy' will be a lot clearer!
Well done though!

Dentists aren't that bad...when Wales gets one you will find out for yourself.

Hah! I had a filling replaced only last week!
It was replaced with a sheep, obviously, but it's the thought that counts...

There's a joke regarding 'filling' and 'sheep' but I'm not going there, besides I'm very bitter about Wales today[^].

Huh - it's only WendyBall. We have a national budget for training our team that's higher than yours, is all: £50 and all the Brains Bitter they can drink.

I went to the dentist 5 times over the holiday; two root canals and 5 or so fillings. This was on top of the three rotten gob-sticks I had removed at Easter. This morning I wrote an e-mail to the torturing b'tard to organise the next session when I'm back in Budapest at the end of October.
I don't just hate d*, I am phobic about them. Aged 10-11, I had a filling that the shyte for brains decided was too small to need any anesthetic, and since I have had a lot of trouble going. After at least 20 years, I had a couple of sessions with a dentist who was a trained psychologist as well but it was proving too far to go to her on a regular basis.
It may seem stupid to instead go to one in Budapest, but as I am there at least twice years and the same practice is dealing with my daughters' braces it is proving workable and I actually like the guy.
The treatment is still very scary for me, but at least I am going!

The best dentist I ever had never used anesthetic at all for fillings - he just dived in and was really, really careful. And he caused less pain before, during, and after the treatment than those I've used that were liberal with the syringe!
I think it's because he knew he had to be careful, had to be sure what he was doing, instead of going in like a bull in a china shop and grinding like a loon. Regrettably, he retired a few years after I joined the practice.
I am proud to say that I have bitten two dentists when they got over-enthusiastic and I had access to fingers!

I've been using Evernote[^]'s free cloud service for a long time to store my notes so that I can get at them from everywhere and on all types of clients.
However, they have now chosen to "update" the web client GUI, and the changes are not for the best to say the least. I kinda liked the old one, but the new is slow, unintuitive, hard to use, colourless, fugly - And it flashes when you scroll a note so it takes forever to scroll to the bottom.
Completely useless. Upon contacting Evernote[^], I got the reply: "Well, you can revert to the old interface from "Settings", but it's only temporary. In time, the new look WILL become permanent."
And guess what: In the new GUI, I CAN'T EVEN FIND THE FRIGGIN' SETTINGS!
So I need a new similar service, preferably ASAP!
Has anybody got good experiences they can share to brighten my day???
TIA!

Well... I dunno. I've used it on occasion when evernote started to demand some privileges on my phone that I didn't want to grant.
I don't think it's going away anytime soon, but you never know.
Most of the time when I want to make a note of something, I just create an e-mail draft as that window is usually open already anyway
That isn't really useful if you want to sort & categorize you notes though.
Microsoft OneNote[^] would be another alternative.

My mom used to call me that "Word was broken" when she accidentally dragged the toolbar to another corner.
So yeah, maybe you should bake me a cake and I help you find your settings, would that be a deal?

Don't hold your breath Peter. Besides - I've seen your profile pic. You don't need anymore cake...
Anyway, I found it, but it wasn't logical at all. There's no icon saying "Settings" - instead they're hiding it behind some strange logo that doesn't look anythign like the other icons. That's exactly what I mean: It's not intuitive and it's not logical!
Sorry, but I just don't like the design, and I don't want to use it.
Luckily, I CAN use the Windows application on the computer and the Android app on the other devices, so I don't really need the webinterface, come to think about it. As long as the Windows application is left as it is...
