I'm feeling old today, and it's not just knowing that I've done around 939 moons of hard-time on this planet: knowing that my electrons could be older than the universe is makes me think it's them little gizmos put me in a nest of miseries [^]:Quote: But the research team did manage to come up with the most accurate measurement yet of the “lifetime” of electrons. Their calculations suggest that a particle present today will still be around in 66,000 yottayears (6.6 × 1028 years), which, as Physics World puts it, “is about five-quintillion times the current age of the universe.” The details of this work now appears at the science journal Physical Review Letters. Now you might claim that electrons didn't exist before the universe existed, but, I ask you: how would you, or I, know ? If electrons are meant to outlast whatever this reality is, who's to say they weren't around before this was ?
Who's to say electrons weren't having a tail-gate party after some cosmic-particle super-bowl, gettin' high on neutrinos, charmed by quarks, and the big-bang troubled them no more than an itch on the backside you can't quite scratch troubles you, or me ?
Well, okay, I think I'll try meditation in hand-cuffs, and see if that helps.

I'm increasingly inclined to agree with you if a certain somebody's 'songs of the week' are anything to go by!

If I'd done this from the start of 2015 and you followed them all you had heard goth rock, heavy metal, black metal, Disney soundtracks, chill out, dance, trap, rap, hardstyle and 80's...
Predating 2015 I have music from all eras and genres, and all have some song of the week somewhere
So give me your song of the week. Unless, of course, you're one of those non-music-listening-neanderthals

First there is no evidence that neanderthals were unaware of tonal pattern! Second I listen to a great deal of music and give at least 20 new album releases a chance not to be consigned to eternal darkness as a result of my weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth every Friday. What I don't do, however, is endlessly churn out the same track over and over to the point of obsession so don't really ever have a song of the week. I can give you a couple of candidates for the song of 2015, however.
Little Big Town "Quit Breaking Up With Me" - YouTube[^]
Sara Bareilles - She Used to Be Mine (Live on Today Show) - YouTube[^]
Sorry, if they're too much like actual songs for you!

One of those songs that sound like many other songs, which I heard first on the radio, but that I still like and that you might like as well (and which didn't make it last year because it's a 2014 song): Lady Antebellum - Need You Now - YouTube[^].
More 'songy' songs I liked in 2015 (but are older than that) are Conjure One - Center Of The Sun (Feat. Poe) - YouTube[^] and London Grammar - Strong (Official Video) - YouTube[^]

That's what people who were your age said when you were born.

You are so close to 'Sahasra-chandra-darshana', which means sighting of a 1000 moons (full moons).
Sahasra-chandra-darshana is an occasion to celebrate, and be grateful for all things experienced, enjoyed; there are elaborate rituals and festivities in some communities around where I live (Bengaluru).
Wish you also have a great Sahasra-chandra-darshana celebration, after the next 61 full-moon sightings.

I recommend scotch, Bill; in large quantities. This existential crap is all good and well, but when it comes to facing reality, it's not actually good for much, is it?

Hello. I've puslished an article in December and I'd like to know what date the article competition starts ?

Not for another week or so, I believe. For those that post articles later in the previous month, this gives people time to read them and vote on them in the current month.

You're right, it's mostly music and nothing is actually sung.
Maybe I should call these posts 'Music of the Week'?
