Platitude in the mouth of doggerel.
«In art as in science there is no delight without the detail ... Let me repeat that unless these are thoroughly understood and remembered, all “general ideas” (so easily acquired, so profitably resold) must necessarily remain but worn passports allowing their bearers short cuts from one area of ignorance to another.» Vladimir Nabokov, commentary on translation of “Eugene Onegin.”

My goodness, what will they think up next?
This is going to revolutionise IT, someone is going to make billions out of this idea

Of which idea? Spamming CodeProject? Unfortunately there is nothing new about it...

I take it you didn't follow the link?
Whoever removed the post didn't follow the link either or does not understand satire - it was a satirical site pointing out that your own personal pc can be used as your'cloud' backup service.
[Edit]
Turns out that it was spam, see my recent post[^] - my mistake

Why should I? If OP meant to post a joke it would be labeled that way!

The whole point of satire is that one does not point out that it is a joke - that's what makes something satirical.

So you follow every link presented to you online? Hmmm... Very interesting...

Just joined last week and first post a link to an external site with what appears to be spam? Not a great start and just asking to be nuked - and yes, I'm one of those who voted spam on the account and post.

But to be honest I can understand those who did report the post - it had all the signs of a stupid spam...
I tried to stop reporting the member, but was too late... Fortunately we can fix it, by asking the staff the reverse history...

Kornfeld Eliyahu Peter wrote: it had all the signs of a stupid spam For me, that makes marking the post as SPAM understandable; but to kick the person off this site (by marking the account as SPAM) seems way overkill for something like this.

Those two are follow almost automatically (and in case of a spammer rightfully) - in this case it was misinterpreted and for that I will ask to reinstall the member (what I would not do in case of real spammer)...

The problem is that marking a forum post as spam is also reporting the account.
I forget this sometimes like in this case.

I did not think that was the case. Are you certain? Or guessing? Doesn't really matter in the end, just curious.

You will find my name among those that closed the account. But I reported only the post and not the account.
I recognised this some time ago when reporting real spam and found the account to be closed already including my name when trying to report that too.
But this seems to apply to forum posts only as far as I know (not to Q&A posts).

So, you have an email that you think is spam but your email client hasn't caught it. Do you follow it? Do you let the spammer know that there's rich pickings there?

So you leave it to others to do the heavy lifting and dirty work for you. Don't get upset at those of who do that work for you then.
