I agree with Griff. IMHO, this is not art, this is a colossal waste of time and human effort.

I don't get it, he digs a hole, then sits / stands in it and that's "art"?
By that definition we are all artists, I'm pretty sure we all at one point during our lives did that (at the beach, during renovations, ...)
I'm sure it's me that doesn't understand the profound meaning of this...

Some guy once put a urinal in a museum[^] and called it art.
The worst part is that, in artistic circles, it's a highly esteemed work of art.
And what about John Cage who sat on stage, behind his piano, and did absolutely nothing for a good four minutes[^].
Said he "composed silence"...
As it happens I have a bachelor in Common Art and Cultural Sciences.
The bachelor is pretty cool (it's about "what is art", "what drives artists", "how does art shape society and/or vice versa"), the arts not so much

The problem is that we are (collectively) rich enough to be able to support such wastes of oxygen without counting the cost. In some cases, such support even comes from the public purse!
In earlier times they would never have found patrons, and would therefore have either starved in their garrets or had to work for their livings.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Some people couldn't have a genuinely original thought if they were left to do nothing but try for twenty years.
Plenty of people are willing to say that every mindless, pointless idea they have is great and creative, though -- especially when other people later see meanings in the "work" that the "artist" hadn't thought of.

Wow. Must be very different over where you live.
For me, there's not been a decent movie in years - stories that insult one's intelligence and lots of special effects. Add in to the mix some remakes and sequels. It's gotten so bad I've taken to streaming old Dick Tracy Serials[^].
Well - at least there's Full Frontal With Samantha Bee (but that's not a movie, either).

Not agree with that.
There have been good films in the last years. I agree with the "blockbusters" but there still is some quality up and a while.

I think you should try indie/low budget films for a change like Safety Not Guaranteed, Half nelson, Fish tank, 11:14, etc., I could make you a list.

Actually, I have a smallish source of independently made films on a streaming station. It's forte is movies (shorts: 5-20 min) and advertising that will definitely not make it to (US) TV or theaters.
But, then, I still find little to nothing in terms of creativity in the main-stream. Not like in "Days of Yore" where there such movies as "A Clockwork Orange", "Blazing Saddles", "Apocalypse Now", and "Easy Rider" to name a few off the top of my head.

Saw Civil War in the opening weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed it - all except for Martin Freeman and the worst parody of an accent since "Awrayight Merry Poppins" was unleashed on an unsuspecting world. Americans, I apologise to you - you have many fine actors, but apparently the best choice for an American was a hobbit.

Wasn't James Doohan's "Scottish" accent unleashed more recently than Mr Van Lesbian's "Cockney" accent?

So one movie will destroy a whole year of movies?
I mean I don't remember Fifty Shades Of Gray ruin any other movies for me.
Also Warcraft the movie is coming out soon! I'm not that much into Marvel, did like Deadpool since it wasn't the usual PG-13 Marvel movie. Even though I did like both Hellboys and Constantine. The Avengers and all the movies surrounding them are not that interesting to me. I feel the comic book genre is getting over saturated. Were the Kick-Ass movies also Marvel? I liked those two.
I hope the new Jason Bourne will be good though. I liked the first three.

Hm, hopefully it will be better done than the rest of his standalone movies. But yeah, I guess I will keep an eye out for that one.
