No, just the fanciest private school El Paso had to offer. My father's employer paid part of the tuition fees to spare us kids the overfilled public schools.

Why? They allowed to get guns too...I would say we will see a change in teaching methods...And exams will carry out more like an interrogation...

Would you want to stand in front of 30 teenage boys armed with concealed weapons and hand out bad grades?

0) You have to be 21 to get a concealed carry license in Texas.
1) Grades are handed out electronically, so there's no need to stand in from of 30 teenage boys.

Doesn't make it so much different.

I suppose the teacher has still go to come to the school physically at some point.

To go along with the decline in the number of qualified teachers?

If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Well, there were argument how it will suppress free speech - but that constitutional amendment isn't nearly as important as the constitutional amendment that let's you talk with a 45 cal or Glock 9. At least for those who evolved the capability of speech.
But - really now - if it lowers the population of Texass, sufficiently, it will all have been worth it now, correct?

law will discourage students from attending universities
This seems like bullshit. Do guns discourage people from living in the US? Or going anywhere public?

Well, speaking for myself, I will not live in certain states and certainly not visit certain cities. In fact, I'm not actually that keen on travelling abroad at the moment.
And there are obviously places in certain cities that I, as a white guy, will not wander into.

Yes, every time someone is shot.
I stand behind the right to possess arms, I don't think carrying them is an answer to anything. I don't want to own any.

I think they need an amendment about the constitutional right to bring alcohol with you!
Gun + Alcoholic beverage would be a really powerful mix! One that could only be controlled with more guns and alcohol!

No need to worry about that, it's not like students to enjoy the odd alcoholic beverage.

An armed society is a polite society.
Y'all sound like the idiots here in Texas that were claiming that the new "open carry" law would result in blood running in the streets, and that it would be "like the old west". A couple of things you are probably ignorant of (if you don't live here):
0) To carry a pistol in Texas, you need to pass a (hopefully) rigorous background check, take a training class on the legalities of using your weapon, and spend at least four hours of actual range time to prove proficiency. After that, you get your concealed carry license.
1) You must be at least 21 years of age before you can legally possess a hand gun and get a concealed carry license. For rifles, the minimum age to own is 18 (I think), and openly carrying a rifle is legal without a license.
2) The number of people that are licensed to carry in Texas, and that have abused that privilege can be counted on ONE HAND. Compare that to the number of cops that have broken the law (they're allowed to openly carry weapons), and any reasonable person begins to wonder who should/should not be carrying a weapon.
Finally, someone that wants to shoot up a classroom or teachers office will most certainly NOT be deterred by gun-free-zone signs. The only thing that might deter them is the knowledge that they could be shot themselves, but the insane are rarely concerned for their own life.
All this hand-wringing and doom-saying is pointless, absurd, and laughable.
