I heard Victoria's Secret recently introduced a new wire-free push-up bra.

Yeah, around here the flooding from hurricane Harvey put lots of first responders wading through the water. My step daughter was frantic worried about us, but we only got about 2 feet of water in the house. I told her, I survived a stroke and losing a hand. a little water doesn{t worry me at all!

It's an art- teaching children how they could be developing a strong mind to withstand any challenge.
This movie by Mel Bibson- "Apocalypto" though it contains extreme violent & gory scenes(Which I do not prefer), the ultimate message truly gets into your heart. Life can be extremely cruel, but as long as you got a strong will, you can get over any challenge.

Well... my French is somewhat rusty, but (apparently)
CAR = French for "because" (new one on me, that, but who am I to argue with Google Translate?)
BON = good (also French)
A = American, I guess
RA - Egyptian God
something like that anyway!

Car is the more formal and mainly written. Parce que is the most common.
I'm trying to learn it as the gf is French, but I'm so far failing miserably.

In the past and even now I see many "laws" which is somehow called as Murphy's law.
To my best of knowledge, Murphy's law was just one and that was "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong".
So is there any recognized link or book which states all the murphy's law or its that people just made up some law as they fit and credited to Murphy.
cheers,
Super

In the UK Murphy's Law is called Sod's Law, I was told it got known as Murphy's Law by the Americans due to their being an in rush of Irish immigrants doing a variety of jobs including police.

"Murphy's Law" is an expression which is applied to things going wrong if they can. One law but the possibilities are infinite. The etymology is given in Wikipedia Murphy's law - Wikipedia[^].

I am sure, that NOT Murphy discovered that law.

I think the definite book for Murphy and all other meta-"laws" is this one:
Murphy's Law: Complete [^]
It is fun, in any case!

About 25 years ago, here in Norway a series of four or five books were published with variations on Murphy's Law - in Norwegaian, so they are probably of no use to you. Besides, after the third volume or so, the Murphy element became gradually weaker; the later books are more collections of funny observations / "laws".
And, where do you draw the line for "Murphy's Law derivatives"? Like the T-shirt I am wearing today, stating "Experience: The ability to recognize a mistake when you repeat it": Is that a derivative of Murphy, or not?

super wrote: all the murphy's law or its that people just made up some law as they fit and credited to Murphy It certainly wasn't Murphy's intent to have all those laws, but.. well.. you know the rest.
