In Python you can use range().
So, for [0,1,2] you would do either;
if nThatVeryLongVariableYourMateNamed not in [0,1,2]:
or
if nThatVeryLongVariableYourMateNamed not in range(3):
or
if nThatVeryLongVariableYourMateNamed not in range(0,3):
or
if nThatVeryLongVariableYourMateNamed not in range(0,3,1):

Anyone up for some best of posts?
How about we start with the best of TOS: for me that would be "Tomorrow is Yesterday".
Next!
Keep your friends close. Keep Kill your enemies closer.

Nooooo, "best of" is the crap broadcast TV stations use to fill up holiday seasons when there's no new material, and for real killer they love doing a "best of <some-sh*t-reality-tv-show>."
If you're really into that sort of stuff go and watch Ghandi again again again, and tell us if you feel better, and if that doesn't convince you have a go at Survivor Season 1, or for cute whichever Kids vs Chefs program rocked your boat.
Anyway, "best of" is always contentious, if ya really gotta do it I suggest the soapbox.

Even worse is when they do a "best of [X]" programme for something you'd actually want to see, but it's just 10-second clips of [X] with "celebrities" talking over the top of them, interspersed with the "celebrities" talking about their tenuous connection to [X], or their memories of other "celebrities" with a tenuous connection to [X], or what they were doing when [X] was first broadcast. Just show the feckin' episodes!

The best of TOS? That would be that they never scooped as low as this[^], despite having ended almost ten years earlier.

I don't remember this thing, but can't imagine missing it. So, I can only assume I blocked it out...as some sort of traumatic memory.
Wait...what were talking about?

One of my favorite TOS moments is good for a future post of your APOD. One of the times where CGI really accomplished what the special effects of the 60s could not:
Fly away from the sunset, not into it.[^]

From TOS the one which sticks most in my mind is "The Trouble With Tribbles" - if only because the episode has been "revisited" in later Star Trek: DS9 went back to it and put a different "flavour" on it.
