You already posted it tomorrow, which means that you should have set yesterday's question today.
I think.

You got me there - let me think about yesterday...

Since no one has posted the answer with the solution, you are up for today's one.
It was a "hidden word" clue and the answer was "ANSWER"
"The Germans were having a come back" -> "come back" was the definition and "having" was the "hidden word" indicator.
I think there were such situations earlier when a winner was declared even if they had posted the answer unknowingly.

Isn't 'comeback' a single word in this context?
|
|
|
|
|
Indeed, it should have been a single word.
I actually meant "answer" as a verb and went with "come back" (I believe "comeback" is a noun, not a verb). But now when I look at the clue, it really shouldn't have the article.

..is how long Visual Studio 2015 with Update 1 took to install.
I can only assume the install package consisted of a strand of DNA and it had to evolve into an intelligent life form before becoming a working program?

That would be a remarkably efficient way to distribute software over very slow connections.
Perhaps MS are planning cutbacks in their internet access speeds?

It depends on your intentions.
Storage:
Currently, DNA is more compact than even the best storage devices. This will probably may change in the not-too-distant future. Furthermore, the size advantages come at the cost of requiring massive amounts of hardware for encoding/decoding.
Transmission:
If your DNA molecule is capable of reproduction (not true of an arbitrary DNA sequence), then DNA may be a slow, but efficient method of distribution. However, you must then take into account replication errors, etc. Furthermore, if you expect the DNA to "evolve" into your data, you must also provide mechanisms to handle mutations from the desired evolutionary path.
While I can't speak for Microsoft, I think that for my computing needs - I'll stick with physics.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

Blimey. What's your internet connection, two baked bean tins and a length of string? Took me a little over an hour to update.

It got to the "Applying ASP.NET and Web Tools" and then just went really slow...

Oooh. That's bad - it just ran smoothly at this end. Is there anything in your event viewer that would indicate why?

Lots of exciting errors - the ones that seem most likely are:
Quote: Product: Microsoft ASP.NET and Web Tools 2015.1 (Beta8) - Visual Studio 2015 -- Error 1714. The older version of Microsoft ASP.NET and Web Tools 2015.1 (Beta8) - Visual Studio 2015 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612.
and
.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v4.0.30319_32) - Failed to compile C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\CSharpInteractive.rsp because of the following error: is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1).

I think it may be time to upgrade your 386. Maybe to even a Pentium.

x = y.
Then x2 = xy.
Subtract the same thing from both sides:
x2 - y2 = xy - y2.
Dividing by (x-y), obtain
x + y = y.
Since x = y, we see that
2 y = y.
Thus 2 = 1, since we started with y nonzero.
Subtracting 1 from both sides,
1 = 0.

Why are you dividing by (x-y) when you started with x=y?
You have just been Sharapova'd.

Wrong... aint it?
x2 -y2 / (x-y) => x+y
xy -y2 / (x-y) => y+y
xy / x-y => 1*1/1-1 => (actually how could you divide this when there is a minus...)
y2 / x-y => y/x-1 => (actually how could you devide this when there is a minus...)
But i guess thats bullshit 2 because it "should"? be x2/x-y - y2/x-y which ruins everything
Okay screw everything... you are wrong, thats all i can say

Ah yeah i started to correct it because i know its not correct you have to divide every part of that equation that leads to funny result
