Kent Sharkey wrote: Just how does Europe survive without those "oh so helpful and necessary" non-competes?
In Italy we have them. They are regulated but we have them. Main regulation points:
* They must be compensated beyond the normal pay;
* They are null if the compensation is lower than 15% of yearly wage;
* They must be constrained both in duration and geographical area and cannot exceed 5 years anyway;
* The compensation must reflect the heaviness of constraints (the wider / longer, the more they have to be compensated. No 15% for a worldwide ban for 5 years);
* They apply only to direct competitors. If someone moves from automotive firmware to aerospace firmware there is no sanction;
* The sanction to the employee is fixed at 2 times the cumulative amount received during the employment time.

Last Tuesday, loads of Linux users—many running packages released as early as this year—started reporting their devices were failing to boot. Instead, they received a cryptic error message that included the phrase: “Something has gone seriously wrong.” Linux stops working after a Windows update? Yes...very mysterious.

Microsoft Teams has transformed the way we connect and collaborate at work and in our lives. To date, there have been two Teams apps on Windows 11 – one for work or education and another for personal use. Because sometimes there is an 'I' in Teams

...and if you look under the covers (of at least the Linux apps), Teams is just Skype with lipstick.

I agree the command lines look similar, but if you use a Windows spy, the two processes look fairly different (to me). I suspect it might be convergent evolution, or similar groups doing the command line design.
