One of the ideas behind Ig Nobel is to make you think: "Well, it may seen like a money waste at first glance, but then again: Maybe there is something to it."
Also, lots of the prize winners through the years really spent Ig-norable money resources on their research. They made some observations during other, 'serious' research, and spent an afternoon writing down their observations as a 'paper'. Professionals have done similar things for ages. We used to have 'Journal of Irreproducible Research' (did Ig Nobel grow out of JIR? I suspect so.) Or you can look at the RFCs published at April 1st for many years. Look at the 'esoteric' programming languages. You've got lots of stuff like that in the professional world.
Some of us think that lots of it is good use of money. We need a little laugh every now and then.

Microsoft stopped supporting Edge on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 in January 2023, which means Edge 109 was the final browser update available for those operating systems. What part of 'unsupported' did they not get?
Although I guess they could use this as proof that Edge "isn't part of the OS"

When they label it "Preview", noone should expect it to be 100% stable with everything working perfectly.

Oh, no. As someone who has been dealing with Microsoft products since way back in the MS-DOS 2.0 days, I can assure you it's not.
If MS didn't make everything a pain in the ass to setup, use, and broken, we wouldn't have jobs and lifetime prescriptions for anxiety medications.
