Well, I watched a few minutes of the lecture.
Then I went out and looked at the first 3 pages of Volume 1.
About the same as I've done for the last 20 years or so.
And somehow I still don't have vast knowledge of algorithms!!
I supposed I just need some more work with HTML, JavaScript & CSS and I'll understand the things that Knuth talks about.

When the initial reports on this breach were released, I let everyone in my company know they needed to immediately change their passwords everywhere if they used LastPass.

I prefer 2FA authenticator app over services like this.
But reading this: LastPass Review 2022: is it safe and reliable?[^] it suggests that even if a hacker got the source code, which they did, and user data, which they have twice now, they still don't have access to the user passwords.
FWIW, I'm no fan, nor supporting LassPass, only stating known facts.
But, the class action lawsuit could be the end of the company.

It's been ending since it started, hasn't it? (at least back to 4GL, but I suspect the machine fiddlers hated those new high-level languages like Assembly and C)

If this turns out to be the case, writing a program will simply be replaced by writing a specification that needs to be nearly complete and unambiguous. So, in natural language rather than computer language, but not all that different from now, though sadly suited maybe more to lawyer types than to today's software developers.
