Microsoft is making a high-stakes bet on AI. But will it tarnish its reputation that it has worked long and hard to rebuild, bringing a return to the "Microshaft" days? Its reputation?! *Its reputation?!*
I mean, love 'em to death, but that is a company with a generally not positive reputation if there ever was one.
OK, not counting Oracle.
Or Google.
Or IBM.
Or... well, how about this - they're in the bottom half of the rankings for reputation?

Good point. Apple, maybe. Certainly it has a better reputation for most observers.
And if we invoke VAX, I’m sure we can get a few Digital fans out of the woodwork. But of course they are no more.
But, yeah. Big companies aren’t conducive to having a good reputation.
