Because there are a bin % of people trusting more Google than the medics.
And I know, there are bad professionals in every job, but still... I have been at my doctor (which is one of the bests I know) and hear from the waiting room how a patient started yelling at him because he said something different that she didn't like and was totally opposite what she read in whatevery forum she used... we (other patients) boo'ed her as she got out.
