Hackers are abusing the Windows Problem Reporting (WerFault.exe) error reporting tool for Windows to load malware into a compromised system's memory using a DLL sideloading technique. Someone should use the tool to report this! (oh, wait)

Can't we just make what MS makes with all those reports (a.k.a. plain ignore it)?

On-demand learning is the act of acquiring knowledge when the situation demands it, not sooner nor later. So I shouldn't watch this 12 part training series to learn more?
|
|
|
|
|
On-demand learning is just like JIT manufacturing. Having your own storehouse with the raw materials you need for your production is a waste of resources. As is a storehouse for ready-for-deliver products when you haven't yet signed a contract for delivery.
Knowledge is similar: Knowing or understanding something that you do not need to know or understand right now is a waste of resources, reducing profits. Never spend time on unnecessary understanding of anything! That will curb profits!
The article writer is obviously aware of this dilemma. As he points out, large parts of the industry are not.

Back then, a trainee of mine was arguing with me about something technical and at a certain point I made a mistake and he started:
- You are the senior, you are supposed to know that.
My answer:
- I have already forgotten more than you have learnt up to now.
The most important skill I took from college was, to learn how to learn.
The second most important to learn how things work and not the formulas by heart.
The third to discard all what I don't need right now and can look up in another moment if I need it.

Did a human or an algorithm write that? For the answer, just ask this algorithm. Does he just ask ChatGPT?

I am sorry Kent, I think I can't answer that.
Or if I have to, I'll have to open that (other) door.

Video game testers formed Microsoft's first labor union in the U.S. after the company acquired ZeniMax in 2021. Look for..the union label...when you are crushing those zergs
Not sure if they're still using that jingle to promote unions, but it's been in my head since childhood.

Reminds me of an old SNL skit.
From Saturday Night Live in the 70's about a pot growers union Look for, the Union label…
when you are buying your joint, lid, or pound
Remember somewhere, our Union’s growing
you’ll be smoking, at the best price around
You know we work hard, but who’s complaining?
So always look for, the Union label,
it says we deal for the U.S. of A.

ChatGPT made conversational AI accessible, now Microsoft is rumored to be integrating the machine learning techniques behind it into Bing search queries. I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t return the results from that query
Maybe you should take a stress pill, and calm down

All things being equal, so not when performance is an issue, and in addition to any existing coding conventions, the understandability of code is the most important thing. Understand?

"This sentence has sofa six words".
In my student days, "self-referencing sentences" were sort of a craze. The above is one of the basic examples. What has the sofa got to do in there? Well, if it was removed, the statement would no longer be true; the sentence would not refer to itself.
(Another popular one: "This sentence does not refer to itself" - is that a self-referencing sentence? Is the statement true?)
