Dragging the resource from the pane into your code inserts the location (it does on my VS05)

I'm assuming you're using VB.NET 2005. If you have the Application Framework turned on in your project (double-click My Project, Application tab), then it's pretty easy.
Click on the Resrouces tab in My Project. Acrossed the top of the Resources window, the far left icon picks what type of resources are going to be listed in the window. The second one is, of course, Add Resource. Click on the drop-down arrow next to it, then pick Add Existing File. Pick the file has the image you want to add. Done! The image will be added to the window with the resource name under the image. You can rename it if you want to, you'll be using this name to refer to the image in your code.
Close the My Project window and save changes. For an example, say I've added a .JPG with the resource name Sample. Now, in your code, all you have to do to, say, assign this image to a picturebox is:
PictureBox1.Image = My.Resources.Sample
It's that simple!

Hello
Is there any chance to get the row position in a table using a 'select' statement ?
Thanks

Where the row is located is random so I would not build any logic rellaying on that information.
And as far as I know, you can't get that information so...

I'm using VB.NET in Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003.
I have an application which is linked to a database. The Database is very simple, only 3 fields, which are Date, Task, duration.
I am using Crystal Reports to create summary reports of the data.
The report looks something like below (Example):
Date Task Duration
18/03/06 Meeting 01:00:59
19/03/06 Lecture 01:01:56
19/03/06 Lab 02:02:01
At the bottom of the report, under the Duration field I want to have the Total Duration. I can't seem to do this. Can anybody help please?
Thanks

Hi
I wrote my project using VB.NET with VS 2005. I added xml comments to every class/method/variable etc. I am using NDoc to create an help file based on these comments. The problem is NDoc is declaring that some of the components are missing comments allthough i have checked and the comments are there but from some reason NDoc was unable to read them.
How can i fix it.
Thank you for your help.

First make sure that your comments really are correct. Build the project, then look in the Task List if you have any warnings about missing comments.

How this is done would depend HEAVILY on the type of server that your uploading a file to. This would be some kind of file server with a mapped network drive, FTP server, TFTP, web server, ...
min13 wrote: it also can shutdown the computer
The REMOTE computer?? First, you'll need admin rights to the remote machine. Next, you'll have to call InitiateSystemShutdown[^] with the remote machine name, and various other parameters.

I have an easy question, I am new to programming with VB.NET but I have been programming extensibly in borland delphi.
is there a namespace with modem functions.
I need to be able to dial and establish connection with another computer over the modem.
All the help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried searching on MSDN?
My guess would be System.Web, but I am not familiar with web interaction with .NET at the moment.

There is no class for modem command support. All you need is a class that handles serial communication. Starting with .NET 2.0, check out the System.Io.Ports namespace. You'll find one there. For .NET 1.0 and 1.1, there are examples of writing your own SerialPort class all over the place. All you have to Google for ".NET 1.1 Serial class"[^].
You'll have to write your own class to handle communication using the modems command set.

I can get this source code to work on my laptop just fine but not on my desktop computer which has an NVIDIA FX 5700 video card, OpenGL won't render on the form, however, I can run other OpenGL applications so I know my OpenGL system files are ok, and source code samples in other programming languages work.
The code was done in VB.NET Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite Edition, can anyone else get it too work?
