I'm a newbie freelancer . Using Visual Studio 2010 for development in C# windows application .Not any specific reason of using 2010.I have to create very basic REPORTS.I'm not sure which option should I go for report creation.Is there any report item which is freely available?,or in all case have to buy license?

please let me know,If you suggest I can change VS version too for this.

There is microsoft report builder which comes with visual studio licence (I think) - look for rdl and rdlc file types when you click add new item in VS. If you don't have the license for VS 2010 you should download and use free VS 2013 Community edition.

Other then that, Crystal Reports are free and powerful.

Both tools have a learning curve for more complex stuff, but basic reports can be whipped out in no time. MS report builder has the advantage here since it comes with predefined themes for headers and document types.

As far as I know, yes. But I haven't used them in recent years. Erm, it may be that the runtime is free and report designer is paid...sorry, not sure, the firm already used it when I came and since the runtime was free I never questioned the tool.
