Could u tell me how many unique values I can assign with a 3 byte alphanumeric field and what is formula to find that out?

1) Find out how many you can get in a single byte.
2) Cube it.

How many alphanumeric values are you prepared to accept? Do upper and lower case count separately? Is punctuation counted? What about control codes? Arabic glyphs? Chinese? Kanji?

Or are you just concerned with a eight-bit quantity and the number of potential values it can hold?

Or do you mean a Unicode character field?
