Please give me an idea regarding PDT programming? Is there any site from which I will get information regarding this topic? Is there any sample source code available?

It's probably going to depend on which PDT you end up using - have a look at the manufacturer website. Remember, they want to sell hardware so they will be as helpful as possible to influence you to use their kit.

Is it that the programs written in PDTs are platform specific?
But I want atleast a sample code to begin with. I have refered
the specifications of PDTs of different companies like Symbol,
metrologic. But they have specified only Application Program Generator
software that can be used to build application without coding.
I got C compiler details of Cipherlab which contains the library
details. But code samples I could't find. Please help me
