Open source database question.

Dear all,

a friend of mine, has recently rebuilt his database architecture using open source database technology. I would also like to restructure my database structure and i would like to ask him questions in regards to his open source database. could some one please help me, in what questions would be advisable to ask in regards to his new open development, which could help me understand the structure and how i could benefit me.

He's your friend, so just talk to him, and he is likely to be enthusiastic, so will probably tell you more than you want to know...
